And you have only one true closer in K-Rod. You need pitching to be competitive. I would NOT trade A-Rod. He is too valuable. I would trade Jeter. Because of his name value, you might be able to get a decent SP for him. I would shoot for a C.C. Sabathia or Brandon Webb level pitcher. I always find that a package deal is an easier sell. Maybe you could trade something like Soriano/Weaver/Neshek for Torii Hunter/Bedard/Putz. Just a random example, but you should downgrade your offense slightly to get a closer and a top quality SP. You can't win without the pitching. With the right moves this could be a good team.

I always try to buy low whenever possible. I would try to get C. C. Sabathia while he's still terrible and Jose Reyes. Reyes hasn't gone on his 70+ SB tear yet so his value is down from where it should be. I would offer John Maine and Carlos Lee. You could play Pence in the OF and either keep Tulo as a backup or as util. Sabathia is a major upgrade from Maine and Reyes is a first round pick in every draft. He might not go for it but it's worth a shot.
