Who to Start Message Board
Yahoo has changed the way the autopick works this year, and has made no mention of it. It will now always pick the highest player available, regardless of whether all of your starting positions have been filled. You can easily end up with 5 first basemen. I don't know why they haven't made the announcement, since this is a major change to the way the algorithm works.

BEWARE OF AUTOPICK!!!!! Yahoo changed the rules and didn't notify anyone. It now drafts by selecting the highest ranked player, even if that player moves to the bench on your team. This is why pitching may get iffy.

Watch it. Yahoo has completely changed how the autopick drafts work this year, and has told absolutely no one. They will now only pick the highest pick available, even if this means filling bench slots prior to having your starting roster filled out. In years past it has always tried to fill your starting lineup with the highest picks available. Now you have to watch yourself. If you don't have any pitchers ranked very high in your predraft order you could find yourself with 5 first baseman and the bottom of the barrel for a pitching staff.

That's not the way it is working in the Mock Drafts this year. It is filling bench slots before it has filled all of the starting positions.
Has Yahoo changed the way the autodraft works? I notice in the mock drafts that it is filling bench slots before the starting lineup is completed. This was not the way it worked in years past. The managers in our league are spread all over the country and it is difficult for us to use the live draft, but if Yahoo is filling our teams by drafting bench slots prior to filling all starting slots, that is a problem.
