Playoff Tie, Still dont get it

That is my understanding, too....BUT, I just tied w/ my opponent (championship, I'm seed #2, he's #1) and he is the champion. We played 3x in the reg season - I won 8-2, then he won 7-5, and then he won 6-5, BUT that means I won 18 categories and he won 15, so I should win, right?

Has anyone run into problems w/ Yahoo not following this order? I finished #2 during the regular season and tied w/ the #1 team (6-6) in the championship. We played 3 times and he won 2 of the 3. HOWEVER, I won the first one 8-2 and he won 7-5 and 6-5, so the total individual stat W&L was 18-15 for me, which Yahoo says is how they break the playoff tie. Anyone ideas?

I'll take the 3 players over Brees, especially if it's a PPR. Figure 150yds and 1-2 TDs for MC and TG, and then 5-10pts for Atl K. Brees prob needs 30+ to beat you - I'll take the under.

Good point. And, this is 0% chance that another team doesn't pick up Smith and there is definitely a solid chance that no one grabs Moss until later, so maybe I could grab him Tuesday when I get 2 more pick ups...

No real position/depth needs, is a PPR league, thinking ROS.

And, Moss was getting solid tgts from Grossman before his inury. Double-digit pts every week w/ Sexy Rexy starting.

Do you pick up Kevin Smith or Santana Moss (with Grossman looking decent today and him being back next wk)? Have 1 pick up left this week.

Worth hanging onto Best and Hillis? Earl Bennett best WR on the wire, Jake Ballard best TE on the wire (have Owen Daniels who has a Bye in wk 11).

Gotta be Reggie Wayne, right? I mean, I don't think you can really ct on any WAS WR except Moss. What is Gaffney's upside? 100yds and 1 TD? Wayne could potentially do double that AND it's much more likely.

Thx for the input on SF. I am leaning towards MJD just bcs you can't really bench your stud players, but I will say that in 3 career games v. PIT, he has 80 yds TOTAL on 19 runs, including 7 yds on 5 carries in '08 (most recent). I agree that SF has stopped some RBs, BUT, I am not sure SF has really played any great offenses, yet (again, outside of potentially PHI, who also is not as good as DET), so I am wondering if DET's passing game can open it up for Best...

Yeah, but Gore has to be the focal pt of the SF offense AND I don't think you can sit your #1 RB after he's gone back-to-back >125 yds. Didn't Forte just have 122yds v. DET? I consider Gore a must start.

And, I usually subscribe to 'don't bench your studs no matter what,' so that would argue for MJD v. PIT (who did give up a ton of yds to Foster), but I also agree that Best is likely to get some chances w/ SF maybe keying on slowing the pass game. Plus, as I said before, I don't think SF is immune to giving up a solid game to a pass-catching RB (like McCoy on PHI and like Best on DET). Note that I am in a PPR league.

I'd sit Torain bcs 1) who knows if Hightower or Helu or Torain will get the most runs and 2) they could be down if Vick repeats anything close to last yr v. Skins, and would have to throw. I def start Ced B and Gore. And, if Blount is Doubtful, you have to like Graham v. NO, although there could be some more passing v. rushing in that game, too, if TB gets down...just watch and see if Hightower is starting or Torain, and if Blount starts. If Torain and Blount start, start Torain. If not, Blount.

    The Law Firm vs Best?

I think you have to start Best given the uncertainty around BJGE. I mean, he ran wild last week, but who knows if Ridley will be the featured back. Also note that SF hasn't faced a really high-powered offense (debatable on PHI) or great RB, so that has inflated their run D stats, IMO (and note that McCoy had a pretty good day catching passes v. SF, and Best is part of the passing attack). Plus, DET's WRs should stretch the field and open things up a bit more than TB did last week, or Cincy, or Seattle, or Dallas.

My question is whether to start MJD or Best, which is tougher w/ MJD playing PIT.

Yeah, but 5 other QBs are also avg over 20, with 12 QBs avg over 15pts, so the marginal gain from Vick isn't worth giving up a top RB, right? It's all relative to the other players available at the position.

I have explored trading him to all other owners, plus I acquired him for Cam Newton and he's not putting up great #s (6th QB), so I lowered the price, I think. I also offered Vick + Benson or Vick + Torain and the MJD owner rejected it. Vick + Sproles was my next lowest RB (also have Best and DMC). I agree that it's not ideal, and he is likely getting the better end of the deal, but it seems like the only way I can get value for Vick...

I appreciate that train of thought, but Vick has underperformed and has been an injury problem and is on a Bye next week. Plus, I acquired him for Cam Newton from a desperate owner who thought he was going to miss time. Plus, I've had him on the trading block for 3 weeks w/ no interest. Most owners have solid QBs at this point, too - Stafford, Newton (traded me Vick), Schaub, Brady, Brees, Rivers, Ryan, Rodgers (me), Big Ben (had Charles, so has no top RB), and Hasselback (owner I'm trading w/, wants a replacement RB to do the deal, so I offered Sproles). So, I kinda feel like the only way I'm getting any value is by doing this deal, or I'll be sitting on Vick all year, when I could have a top RB.

  • I have Rodgers AND Vick (acquired from a prior trade) and want MJD. It's a PPR league and I have offered Vick and Sproles for MJD. I feel like Ingram and Thomas will take over carries from Sproles and w/ Colston back he won't get as many receptions. I also don't NEED Vick w/ Rodgers and I have negotiated that the owner trades me back Vick for Rodgers' bye week and he gets him back. MJD has underperformed, but he is THE guy and his 2H schedule looks much easier. Vick is also injury prone and the Eagles look awful, so I'm okay letting him go. Any thoughts as to whether that's too much for MJD? I will reply to anyone who replies to this. Thanks.
