According to Yahoo, Rizzo is the #4 ranked player right now. I feel pretty good about drafting him at the end of the first round. Maybe you drafted Votto, whose having a career year in his twilight. Congratulations you didn't #$%$ out on your dice roll. Rizzo was a safe bet from the start. I expected a 100-30-100-15-290-400 campaign. Nothing has changed my opinion. Do you know what first basemen puts up comparable numbers to that? Not Votto, Goldschmidt.

Let's look at some numbers that players actually play right now, this season.
Votto has walked 22 times
Rizzo has walked 20 times
Congratulations! Votto walks more than Rizzo.
Votto has struck out 32 times.
Rizzo has struck out 17 times.
Rizzo's OPS is over 200 points higher.
Rizzo hits more home runs.
Rizzo steals more bases.
Rizzo has a higher average.
Rizzo has a higher OBP.
Rizzo plays in a better lineup.
I think it's pretty clear. Votto is better because he's walked 2 more times.

I would keep Brantley and Cespedes. Puig has always been an underachiever and it's Pederson's rookie year. There's a good chance, as the season progresses, Pederson will have to adjust.

Since the beginning of the 2014 season, no player has hit lefties better than... Anthony Rizzo- Who happens to be a lefty himself. Prior to 2014 Rizzo was terrible against lefties. More volume in those 2 lines than anything up your nose Strong.

Giancarlo Stanton: disagree, best chance at leading league in HR and won't hurt you anywhere.
José Bautista: disagree, strong lineup, strong player
Anthony Rizzo: disagree, good all round player with plenty of pop
Justin Upton: disagree, the move to petco actually presented a pretty good window to buy. How different is truner to petco? Not very... In fact the Pads have a better lineup than the Braves did last yuear
David Ortiz: disagree, produces
Prince Fielder: disagree. another candidate to get a good return/
Zack Greinke: Agree. Never liked him, headcase.
Dee Gordon: Agree. Too pricey when guys like Rajai loom.
Evan Longoria: Disagree, doesn't mean I drafted him.
Jay Bruce: Agree, lots of holes in swing
Brett Gardner: Disagree, Solid player.
Elvis Andrus: Agree, 30 stolen bases and thats it from a SS isn't worth that price.
Austin Jackson: Agree, meh player.
Brandon Moss: Disagree, very cheap price for potential production.
Marlon Byrd: Agree, I prefer higher ceiling picks at end of draft
Rajai Davis: Nothing wrong with cheap steals.
Pedro Álvarez: Nice price for power
Yovani Gallardo: Agree, overrated, too much control issues.
Jedd Gyorko: who cares
Curtis Granderson: who cares
Scooter Gennett who cares
Jon Singleton: if you need the power badly, why not take a lottery ticket
Álex Rodríguez: you should always invest in players with something to prove.
Johnny Cueto: type of pitcher you should put a penny because the price is right
Jake Arrieta: see Cueto
Gio González: too many control issues for me
Homer Bailey: good pick
Phil Hughes: been burned too many times
José Quintana: solid player at a more than reasonable price
Bryce Harper: I didn't draft him. Thought he was a premadonna. I was wrong.
Adrián González: is on many first place teams. Value.
Billy Hamilton: too expensive for 1/2 category player
Ryan Braun: just too many question marks for me but he's returned thus far
Troy Tulowitzki: No

Take Harper, immediately.
A. Jones has peaked, he's not going to get better. Harper is 23 years old.
B. Pitchers are really easy to find lately. You could conceiveably not draft a pitcher until the 12th round and still have a very competitive pitching staff.
12 teams, 12 keepers. standard 5x5 + OBP + K/9
I was offered Adam Jones for Yoenis Cespedes and Kolten Wong
Is that upgrade worth it?
I have Pedroia and Semien to potentially fill-in
That's what I was thinking. Wong actually looks a lot like Pedroia, and Pedy was a 2nd-3rd round pick in his hayday. Jones value isn't going to go up.
There's no reason to trade for an older player when Cole has been outstanding. What are you gaining? 5 less runs over a year? Versus an extra 5 years of control? Keep the younger guys.

Actually he changed his stance a bit, same with approach. If you have a spot for him, you really have nothing to lose. He has SS eligability and there's only 3 or 4 shortstops that don't cripple your team somewhere...
