Well, I've got trades on the table so not sure why this reply, except for your personal entertainment/satisfaction.

I like McHugh too, better than Liriano. I just wonder if Trumbo is still a 25HR guy with 85 RBI and Runs, or he regressed from his Angels days? Plus, it's nice that he's 1B eligible.

So would you say Peralta is better than Escobar? I really don't know Escobar that much, so not sure what to think of him? Plus, I've got Castro, so not sure I'd roster him. It's also an option to do both for me, i.e., both the McHugh and Liriano deals. I've got Calhoun and Choo as OF for now, and Pence when he comes back later. Is that an idea or better just do one?

  • Need some more trade advice from the experts here. I'm a in a keeper league and have a glut of OF (CarGo, Ellsbury, Pence, Calhoun, Werth, Revere, Choo, Trumbo) while I can only roster 3 and maybe one on Util. I wanna move out some for SP help, but it has been tough getting willing trade partners. I've got the following two options:

    Trumbo straight up for McHugh
Werth + A. Escobar for Liriano + Perelta
    Werth straight up for Simon

Is any of them worth taking, and if so, which one? I've got Castro pencilled in as my SS for the future, so Escobar and Perelta aren't really useful for me either. However, it seems like I should get more for Escobar. He won't do Werth straight up for Liriano. I don't know enough of baseball to know how good Escobar really is. So some input would be great!

And #$%$ Strong, no, I can't just drop some OF for SPs because the wire is empty (outside of the likes of Sabathia, Santana, Lincecum, Hudson, Buherle, Gonzalez and such...).

    Pence or Dickerson?

The last part of the sentence "ERA and WHIP are highly unpredictable over a week (that is ONE performance in 4 out of 5 weeks for a SP) which is not statistically significant enough to impact your ERA and WHIP." is just completely wrong. Seems like you never studied math or anything. True that ERA and WHIP are highly unpredictable over a week, but Sale's one performance against 7-8 other performances is by no means "not statistically significant enough". That's like a 10-15 % influence. Let's see how you feel when your boss decreases/increases your salary by such a percentage.

Well, the "best" SPs available on the wire are Sabathia, Santana, Holland, Lincecum, Buehrle and the likes. Not really worthy to pick up.

Also, unless you are masochistic or schizophrenic, you aren't obliged to answer to these help requests. I mean, it seems you're getting frustrated over it as if someone is forcing you to read them and reply...

Thanks for the advice. It's just that everyone asks for Trumbo in return it seems.

  • In a keeper league, I'm looking to add pitching and want to move out some batters. Basically, we can only roster 3 OFs and 1 Util spot, and I've got Cargo, Ellsbury, Trumbo, Calhoun, Choo, Revere, Werth and Pence all at OF. At pitching, I've got Felix, Bumgarner, Teheran, Richards, Tanaka, Wilson, Garza and Salazar. So besides my 3 quality SPs, I could use some help. I've been offered the following deal:

Trumbo + Garza for McHugh + Bennett.

Should I take that? I know Trumbo has 1B eligibility, but I've got Pujols and Napoli there. They are a bit older, but maybe can try to get some other help later. Also, I don't care much for Garza and Bennett, so it's really about Trumbo for McHugh. Any advice is appreciated!

    Trout

Why would you want to trade Trout for such old players? Don't do that. If you really want to move him then target guys such as Harper, Puig, Rizzo, Machado, Bogaerts, Upton, Bryant. Young guys, in their early/mid 20s with upside. Not guys that are done in 2-3 years like Cano (declining already) and Beltre.

I understand you need IF help, but then why consider deal 3? That won't do you anything. For sure you must have some other pieces you could move? Otherwise, move Frazier for a lesser 3B and another IF.

    Thinking about trading Seager

I'm not the biggest expert, and I'm a fan of Richards, but I'd always pick a bat over a pitcher when things are close. And I think this is close. I'd agree trying to move Seager for an SP though. Maybe try targeting a guy like Cole, Gray or Arrieta? Though Richards could turn out to be just as good as those...

No, No and No. In a dynasty league, never trade Trout, unless you get something ridiculous like a top 5 bat + top 5 SP + another great piece, i.e., something like Stanton + Sale + Kimbrel. Then you COULD consider it. But in those offers, EE is old, offer 2 is a mixed bag of good-but-nothing-close-to-great guys, and trade 3 are good pieces, but not Trout worthy. That's my take on it. Heck, in a dynasty league I offered Springer + Desmond and the other manager, rightfully so, laughed at me. It's just not even close.

I see, well, hopefully he'll counter with something that is close to that and then I'll probably take it. You don't think Machado will turn out to be great?

Thanks for the input. I see Goldschmidt is way better than all the other players. That said, it was a counter on my part, and doubt he'll take it. His initial proposal was Goldschmidt + Gardner + Lohse for my Springer + Machado + Ryu. Should I have done that deal? Seems like a lot of youth moving out. I'm not so familiar with baseball, so all input is great.

Thanks for the advice. It's not an offer I got, more a counter I sent him. The initial proposal was Springer + Machado + Ryu for Goldschmidt + Lohse + Gardner. I didn't accept that one, though maybe I should have? I just felt I was giving up too much youth for a great Goldschmidt. Lohse is very old, and Gardner also. Did I do the right thing rejecting that one?

  • In a keeper league, should I move Springer + Castellanos + Ryu for Goldschmidt + Shoemaker + Gardner?

i know Goldschmidt is great, but I sort of set up my team to be quite young. Sure, Goldschmidt is only 28, but I don't know what to expect from Castellanos and Springer going forward. Also, Gardner is quite old, so he's sort of useless for me. I don't know enough of baseball to evaluate this well. I've got Adams at 1B, Machado at 3B, and my pitching is pretty bad, with Richards, Bailey and Ryu my three best guys. And Yes, they're all injured.

    Any input is greatly appreciated!

  • In a keeper league, I just traded Dickerson + Walker for Harper + Utley. Only Harper and Dickerson are keeper worthy and not really expecting to contend this year. Good or bad deal for me?
