    Minimum innings pitched.

That strategy has its own pitfalls.
The fact other teams have good hitters and are hard to beat is a poor reason to change anything.
I tried the RP thing trying to win ERA and other ratio type categories, results were disappointing.
Most teams have some SP positions, does your league have only the P position?
The best pitchers in the baseball are starters not relievers.
RP pitch fewer innings and when they do give up a run it really effects their ERA.
It is TOO LATE to change it now and if you can't beat em then join em!!!!!!

Veto Voting Issue- 1/3 don't cut it

Only under the circumstances you mentioned would I ever go to league votes. I would have to know and trust every manager to login at least once during every 2 day period and look for trades. If they don't all your numbers go out the window and that would be unfair to the other managers.

That being said, not all commissioners are honest but I suspect that most commissioners want to prove to others they are honest because it feels good. You run an honest league RIGHT? If a trade is rejected then it can be discussed or changed and resent, BUT if a lopsided trade is approved then it shouldn't be undone, NO RECOURSE SUCKS.

You are lucky to have active managers who are so diligent and trustworthy. In my leagues I have "at least" 2-4 managers that stop logging in once they start losing. Doing the math on a 12 team league. Trade participants equals 2, commish makes it 3, and 3 not logging in makes 6. Now 4 of the remaining 6 managers must vote against to get a rejection. This is exactly what trade mongers count on, APATHY to help them get unfair or lopsided trades approved. AND if a manager tries hard enough he'll find a time period towards the end of the trade deadline to sneak a trade or numerous unfair trades though THUS ruining the league for everyone but himself. This is a travesty that can be avoided with a fair commissioner that uses Yahoo rankings and the message board to determine a common good for all not just ONE manager.

Then there is the other side of the coin. Many trades are approved due to apathy, nobody logins to even see the trade let alone vote on it. This is a far worse thing to have happen to a league then owners being active and voting NO.

Yahoo didn't specify that you have to give a reason for a veto and that is the absolute correct decision. Your assessment of why a trade gets voted against is one of many reasons but you infer that it is mainly for defensive purposes and that is happens ALL the time. I see a trade monger response here.

Trade mongers will propose a trades constantly hoping someone will just give in or find a sucker without regards to fairness. To an good commissioner league integrity is far more important than individual rights. Trade mongers don't care about league integrity because then they don't get their trades and their chances of winning decrease. IT IS NOT A PROBLEM IF THERE ARE ACTIVE MANAGERS LOGGING IN AND VOTING, oh unless it is your trade. LOL

    Player trades - noob question

I prefer commissioner review. Apathy has been a constant issue for many managers - once they start losing they stop logging in, if they don't login they can't review the trade. Apathy is a horrible reason to allow a trade to be processed. I'll never use league votes, ever... if trade is unfair I'll reject immediately, if a trade is beneficial to both sides and somewhat fair I'll approve, if the trade seems unfair but I'm not sure I'll post to get help from managers not involved in the trade and the point of view of the trade participants.

Review the commissioner tools, it will be helpful. Trade cutoff is a date in the future where trades are no longer allowed for the season, it is not a thing that happens weekly. Check commissioner tools - league settings and you'll understand. Don't think you'll be that busy with trades, I run eight leagues and generally I'd be surprised if I have two per league for the entire season. Although you can as commissioner require managers to trade at least once a season, quarter, week. Check out the scoring and roster options in custom leagues, things like IDP, two (QBs, TEs, Defenses, Kickers) especially for ten and twelve team leagues. Football is the easiest of all the major sports and more leagues isn't that much more work, you'll see.

But if you look at your first response, it clearly gave a strategy to win the tie breaker suggested. Saw nothing about rules in that response.

OK I suppose you didn't say all QBs. Although I could care less about a tie breaker strategy. Seems like a waste of time. I'd much rather have a bench filled with solid RBs and WRs incase some don't play, of course cover the other positions too as you noted. With only one bench player per position can leave a team vulnerable to injuries.

If this is a Yahoo engineer??? Why not poll the users? Everyone has seen both the dark and white background, let us decide. Inform everyone that once the decision is made it will be a hundred years before another change, so everyone best vote if you want to have an impact.

Probably someone you played with previously, would explain how he got your email address. The commish could change league name and team name so that means nothing, but check through your fantasy profile managers link, could shed some light on who he is. Never done an offline draft, but I'm sure you don't get everyone in a room, how would you do that with people all across the world as possible managers? Look it up.

What about injuries and bye weeks? So the tie breaker should go to the healthier team or the one with less byes? Creative thinking but not something I want Yahoo to implement.

Fractional points is the answer. In leagues with divisions the tie breaker is division record then latest weeks performance all the way back to week 1.

Depending on league scoring, QBs are NOT necessarily the highest scorers for the week. Also how would you fill your bye weeks for the other positions with all QBs on your bench. Really bad idea!!!!

it comes from how we as managers draft "ADP- average draft position". It changes until drafts stop. I believe mock drafts are included.
