I like the trade for you but I wouldn't be in a rush to trade Kipper. Brodeur is reaching the age when injuries will be more common and New Jersey isn't the team it was and victories may be harder to come by. Your 2nd goalie Price isn't a sure thing either and may share a lot of time with Halak, the same for Hillier. I'd let the dust settle for a month before rushing into trading a top goalie.

You got problems. I don't like your SG and G positions. For a Yahoo league, your team is also weak at C. Al is not going to produce blocks or rebounds and Kristic is coming off a serious knee injury and woj't be up to snuff until next year sometime. To win a Yahoo Fantasy pool you need a balanced team. You cannot win unless you have 3-4 PG's who can produce 'assists, 3's, and steals. Yours are simply not all around types and that is going to kill you.

I think drafting a solid catcher is important. However I'd wait until my pick in round 3 or 4 if there is no run on them. While you can wait and probably get a catcher later and be on par with 15 teams(maybe), there isn't much talent and the people who get one of the top 4 automatically get a huge edge at that position. Myself, I'd look to draft Mauer who could go last among the solid catchers because he was injured last year but is very capable of a huge season. Vmart and Martin will be drafted very early compared to mauer.
