    Need Help!!! Fair Play Issue

    by Greg P Dec 21, 2013 10:05 AM

It sounds legit. It's not possible to drop/add players after gametime; only to move them from your bench, so if he had Asiata in the first place then of course he meant to start him.

Everyone ready for their championship games?

Thanks man! I was leaning towards Zach too. Have him currently pencilled in. Playing TEs against Arizona has not failed me all year, and Zach actually finds the end zone a decent amount. Certainly more than Heath.

I played Walker in Gronk's place last week in another league after someone thought they were being clever and vultured Charles Clay from me. I knew all along that I wanted Walker with his great matchups remaining. Alas, I lost, but certainly not because of Walker-- rather, because I was playing against Jamaal Charles. Not much I could do about that. I really like my odds to win this week though. Thanks and good luck to you and your teams!

Sup Tom, I'm in the 'ship in a 12-teamer and need a TE between H. Miller, Z. Miller, Pitta and Griffin. I bet 9 out of 10 people would say Pitta, but I'm really not sold on him and Belichick praised him earlier this week so you know he's gonna try to shut him down. He put Talib on Clay last week. Any thoughts? Thanks dude.

  • Need a winner at TE.

    Championship week QB

I agree; I like Cutler. The Bears have a lot to play for and with Philly, the pace of the game will be quick and he will have a lot of opportunities to get yardage and score. Expect a shootout. Cam being at home helps him, but he's still too big of a risk after what the Saints did to him last time. Brady is also too big of a risk- you've seen samples of Brady without Gronk this year and it hasn't been pretty.

I gave you a thumbs up because I noticed that no one else had, and that might make you cry.

Not exactly a starter for a waiver pickup, but I regret benching Jennings for Vereen. Vereen had a better matchup on paper but I think the defense really honed in on him with Gronk out, plus the Pats used Blount/Ridley more since they were going up against a weak run defense. I thought that being behind Vereen would get more looks, but it just didn't happen. As for Jennings, I should have recognized that the Chiefs D is banged up and by now in the season they're no longer that tough unless they're home. Live and learn-- that team still got a LOT farther than they should have. Tons of injuries and started out my season 2-6.

    Bush or Bell, Pleaseeeeee help

You don't need our help for that. You need Google's help. Bush is the starting RB when healthy. When not, it's Bell. Just keep watching Bush's status until gametime. Bell shouldn't be expected to go off if Bush is healthy. The only reason he did on Thanksgiving is that the Packers were unspeakably bad.

    Charles #1 pick next season?

by Bry Mc Dec 15, 2013 6:47 PM
    Jonathan S Jonathan S Dec 16, 2013 3:03 PM Flag

Injuries killed me in one league this year. I had Foster, Roddy, Gronk and Cobb in the draft, and also just made some bad picks like Morris in Round 2 and Brady in Round 5. That team kind of became my baby this year due to having to fix so much about it, and it took a miraculous 7-game winning streak to even get it to the playoffs this week, but I just lost by 10 points in the semis. Should have started Rashad Jennings over Vereen. I'll be advancing to the championship in 2 of my other 3 leagues assuming Megatron gets over 2 points tonight. I played against Charles in the other one; not much you can do about that.

I agree about Foster and I'm not sure the Texans continue with him. Back injuries aren't worth gambling over. Let me know if you find anything with mock drafts.

No one plays IDP. It's a shame, because it's rather fun.

Houston is listed doubtful, so scratch him. I don't supposed James Ihedigbo is available is he? What about Corey Graham?

The "Kevin Ogletree" award: Leonard Hankerson

The "Mike Tolbert" award: Jerricho Cotchery, Joseph Fauria, Darrel Young, and of course, Mike Tolbert

  • I thought this might be fun.

MVP: Jamaal Charles, Calvin Johnson, Josh Gordon, Peyton Manning, Jimmy Graham, Seattle defense

Best waiver-wire pickups: Julius Thomas, Knowshon Moreno, Nick Foles, Zac Stacy, Rashad Jennings, KC defense, Carolina defense

Biggest busts: David Wilson, Arian Foster, Doug Martin, Roddy White, Stevan Ridley, CJ Spiller, Trent Richardson, Michael Vick

Most overrated: Ben Tate, Coby Fleener

Most ill-advised "expert" fantasy pickups: Brian Leonard, Jacob Tamme (rule of thumb: even if it looks like a team might start a FB at RB or a TE at WR, they'll go with someone who actually plays the position if that person is available *coughRainey* *coughCaldwell*)

Biggest surprise: Alshon Jeffery, Josh Gordon, Josh McCown, Julius Thomas, Charles Clay

The "start me already" award: Knowshon Moreno, Donald Brown, Andre Brown (these guys all did well not only this year but LAST year, and their coaches took way too long to give them proper respect. In fairness Andre was injured but he was still initially slated behind David Wilson)

Biggest performances: Peyton Manning, Eric Decker, Josh Gordon, Alshon Jeffery, Bobby Rainey, Nick Foles, Jamaal Charles (I'm not going to look up the week, but come on, you all remember when all of these guys had 'that one week')

Worst QB performances EVER: Nick Foles vs. Dallas, Josh Freeman vs. NYG, Matt Flynn vs. Lions

I think Megatron, Gordon and Graham are all first rounders even in a 10-team league. We'll have to see what transactions take place to fully evaluate all of those RBs though. A lot of those guys could end up as backups. What happens in TB with Martin healthy? Do the Broncos roll with Ball and trade Moreno? Does Arians finally sack up and make Ellington his feature back? Does Gerhart stay in Minny? Does Foster emerge 100% and what happens to Ben Tate? Man, I hate Ben Tate. Do the Giants finally give up on David Wilson and re-sign Brown?

Are any QBs first-round material? Is Peyton still undisputed top dog or is he too risky with age? Is Nick Foles a top-3 fantasy QB next year?

  • Jonathan S by Jonathan S Dec 15, 2013 2:38 AM Flag

Morris has a much easier matchup against the Falcons while Andre has Seattle, but Andre's been getting a lot more carries lately and I'd rather play Seattle at home than on the road. He did lose a goal-line carry to Hillis last week.

It seems that Morris should do a little more since they're gonna want to call run plays to ease Cousins in, plus they probably won't be far behind like they often have been... but with a lame-duck coach you never know. It's hard to trust anything about the Redskins right now.

Stick with Thomas. Broncos are down a receiver with Welker out; Peyton will look to Thomas a lot. I like Pitta's targets too and he's the type of guy I'd love to stash if we still had half the season to go, but he doesn't have Peyton Manning and he also doesn't have any proven history of productivity, or even a good matchup- TEs don't do very well against Detroit.

    Defense wins championships

I've found that Yahoo's defense projections are almost always horrible. I'd take Jacksonville and see what they can do. They've been solid and stopping RBs, so Manuel should have to throw even though that won't be their first choice, and the score of that game should be kept low.

    Flex Help! Cooper or Rainey

    by Jon Dec 12, 2013 12:28 AM
    Jonathan S Jonathan S Dec 12, 2013 12:42 AM Flag

Cooper. I'm still not impressed with Rainey and every time he's faced a good defense he's been shut down. He had a nice 80 yard run for a TD last week but apart from that one play he was shut down even by Buffalo. Plus remember this guy was cut by the Browns, and that was AFTER they traded T-Rich. That means that they thought Willis McGahee, Chris Ogbonnaya and Fozzy Whittaker were ALL better than him. Rainey is a product of desperation and luck.
