Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I agree that Kazmir is a slight upgrade over Sanchez in that trade. Myers is likely a downgrade from Harper, the tough question is how much? Bryce having 3 homers in his last 12 games makes me wonder if he's going to finish strong. Whereas Myers is still an unknown.
You are just saying this to entice me into taking your Harper for Myers offer. You're a slick one, Harry!
I am considering it, honestly. But Harper has finally been Harper again recently so it's tough to pull the trigger. Let's put it to a vote here. Who wins this trade people? Harper/Anibal Sanchez for Myers/Kazmir. I'm leaning toward sticking with Harper/Sanchez, but I could be persuaded.
No inside knowledge, just don't miss a Cardinal game. Neshek has been the 8th inning guy and has been lights out and has strike-out stuff. Just get the sense they trust him more, and like Maness better in a role more suitable to a ground ball pitcher.
Think Matheny will continue to be very stubborn with Rosenthal and give him every chance. That said, if he does lose the job it will be to Neshek not Maness.
I do not like that Stanton trade for you. Cespedes for Shark was a good move, but losing Stanton and Gio for Sale and Cobb hurt your team.
I like Tulo better. Thinner position. What kind of an idiot dropped those guys rather than getting some trade value from them?
I try to be fluid with at least one pitching slot. I can't do too much streaming as we are limited to 3 roster moves per week, but I try to play the hot hand, take some fliers on guys, etc. I decided to give Lackey a shot when he moved to the NL and I like his matchup tonight against SD. If he reverts to his AL ways I won't hesitate to pick up another f/a. Plenty of good streaming options are always available in an 8 teamer.
Thanks. I can see value with all of the names. I was leaning toward Davis as well because of his potential to go off and his recent return of power. Butler has also been good of late, though, and is getting ready to visit Colorado and Texas. Sandoval and Arenado have been solid too and Polanco is looking good again. Tough choice in an 8 team league.
The Royals are red-hot and heading out on a roadtrip that goes to Colorado and Texas, so Perez may just be breaking out of that slump soon. I wouldn't use the waiver claim on Mauer, who even hitting well is probably not going to give you anything but average.
I'm dropping Cargo in an 8 team h2h. Which one of these F/A should I pick up for an open Utility Slot:
REST OF MY TEAM BELOW:
OF) Alex Gordon
SP) Sale, Cueto, Gray, Fister, Shields, Ryu, Lynn, Wood, Lackey, Cole
RP) Dolittle, Melancon, Casilla, Cishek
How do you think the 2015 fantasy drafts will shake out? These are my rough top 25 bats for 2015 as of right now. Thoughts?
Bounceback candidates who will provide great value next season: CarGo, Prince, Harper, Votto
I just dropped Springer in a non-keeper. I don't see him contributing much again in 2014. With the Astros being the Astros they have no incentive to rush his return.
I don't see how. A lot of people (dumb people I admit) still think Strausburg is at or near the same level as Kershaw and still think Hamilton is going to produce like he is in his prime. I can definitely see a bad manager, the type of manager who ends up in last place by this point in the season, thinking he's getting a great return on Kershaw with this deal.
Abreu should get you pretty much any SP you want. But I don't know if that's best for your team. I understand your innings limit problem, but I think you have solid enough guys to get you to the limit without needing to upgrade. If anything, I might suggest dropping a Paxton type, a bench bat, or Mejia for a streaming SP spot until you hit your innings limit. Or maybe, as you approach your limit, trade Kershaw or Hamels for a big time bat and then pick up some really solid middle relief guys that will help your ratios one inning at a time and occasionally steal a W with only 1 inning pitched.
The scenario where he gets hot and wins me my league is what keeps running through my head. Even with Pedroia's recent "hot streak" he has mainly contributed to my BA, which seems to be a lost category for me anyway. My full team is below:
OF) Alex Gordon
DL) Cutch, Cargo
SP) Sale, Cueto, Gray, Shields, Fister, Lackey, Ryu, Lynn, A.Wood
RP) Doolittle, Melancon, Cishek, Casilla
