WoW! I had left this board for dead, and just checked in - and am delighted to find some good, thoughtful discussion and familiar names! This is really encouraging! (And, Hullo John, Dear! - don't see you around the other board anymore!)

Use jayski's for all the information regarding starting line-up and practices. Just punch "jayski's" into your search engine and it will come right up. The information is accurate and UTD within about 20 minutes of the event, and practice times also give 10-lap averages, which can be very helpful.
AND, always be sure and save your roster after you've set it.
That's a trip down Memory Lane from 2011, brought on by your earlier post, tonight, Razor - sorry that my explanation didn't seem to make it to the top of the thread.....

Yes Benny - his IQ now matches his age - as I pointed out in "The 67 (now 68)-Year-Old-Virgin" post - you know - it's why he spent the year in that one ward?
I don't think too many people are paying attention to his one-trick-pony (with multiple profiles) act anymore - as Ron White would say, "You Can't Fix Stupid" - and as Forrest Gump would say, "Stupid is as Stupid does" - so this guy is hitting on all half-a-cylinder, on all 23 profiles......

Oh yes, and BTW - I am sure that The King was NOT in on it - but, I think it was decided by the *autocracy* that rules NASCAR (always cracks me up, that NASCAR is - literally - a political "autocracy") that it could be a "feel-good surprise present".
After all, Brian France & Co (if he has any, LOL) is ALL about making the fans feel warm&fuzzy whenever possible......and, this was a good opportunity......however, if it was the same conditions, the same teams as last year, and the Daytona 500 - do you think he would have let Dave Blaney (whom is hugely under-rated, IMHO) and Tommy Baldwin (an upstart who built back-marker teams on S&P's) win?
I don't - I think he stopped this race at an opportune moment.

Oh yeah - we USED to have an incredibly lively and fun board here - but, that sort of thing attracts trolls, and more trolls, and more trolls, so we got tired of the relentless harassment - especially when one got dangerous - and moved, LOL - we would like to send you the address of our new place and an invite to join us.....

In the world of NASCAR, who are you? Well, unless you are a very well disguised troll, I think someone we'd like on our private NASCAR board - this board used to be seriously jumping with good, sharp fans who had a hoot and the occasional serious hollar discussing NASCAR and anything else that suited our fancy (gotta take the occasional conversational break during commercials, you know, LOL.....) - We expel all trolls permanently, so if you turn out to be one, or someone contacts me pretending to be you, he/she is gone......in the meantime, we have a jukebox or three, and *Joanie's Slow Sippin' Bourbon Bar* along with some other fine establishments, and some good times. If you are interested, email me - we can't post links out here, but you can put it together, I'm sure - joaniereb at rocketmail d c. Then, if you'd be so kind, make a post out here about what time you sent me the email, so I can be sure it's YOU, LOL.....Hope you join us, and turn out to be the awesome fan you seem to be......Thanks!!!!!!!!!

Hey Razor! Check out my post in the thread, "Points". I wanna see the coverage to figure out if they gave the 43 the win as a Birthday Present to The King, and "on the same weekend Petty celebrated the 30th anniversary of his 200th career win" - or if it really needed to be called.
After all, if *NASCAR* can decide to go through hours&hours of rain delay at a Daytona 500, just to have JPM and a jet-dryer nuke each other, then repair the track and face more rain.....but with Dave Blaney and TBR in the lead, which could be a less-than popular outcome - then decide to wait it out some more and continue on with Jimmie Johnson winning........
Well, you get my "points", LOL....

Kinda like blojo and ditzi, ROFLMAO!
Hey - I'll head on over to the other board - if you're there, let's have a night-cap together.....
- JoanieReb JoanieReb Jul 10, 2014 2:06 AM Flag
From what I saw, Mother Nature scored them all, and is the only one who will be awarded any.
BTW, I got to see about 40 laps of that race, despite many hours of - as the old song goes - * wishing, and hoping, and waiting....."
So, the 43 won on the week of The King's Birthday 77th birthday, is that right? How......sweet : Happy Birthday from Bill France to Richard Petty.......
I REALLY want to see how easily they called this race (had to miss most of it), because I remember hours of rain delay, an exploding jet dryer, the subsequent track repair, and more rain (I think) at a certain Daytona 500 - but Dave Blaney of TBR was in the lead, and how LAME would THAT be, to hand him the win (altho' he is far more deserving than many).......no - let's go with a "TRIBUTE" winner:
(can't post *L*I*N*Ks - but you can find the article - very understated in making it's points -
" It had been more than 15 years since the iconic No. 43 drove to Victory Lane. Almirola won the rain-delayed and rain-shortened NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, putting Petty's famed blue car back on top for the first time since 1999.
Almirola's first Cup win came on the same weekend Petty celebrated the 30th anniversary of his 200th career win......Many other drivers left Daytona scratching their heads over the decision to not wait out the rain like they had so many other times this weekend."

Oh, Yeah, I don't see one listed now, but that sometimes changes, and they throw a repeat in on Thursday. Also, as they'll use one as a filler if there is bad weather on Friday if practices and Q's are cancelled.
I was travelling, myself, so didn't see much coverage, except of the rain, so I am really hoping for a repeat, myself.

Hahahahaaaa - I'm trying to reply, Matt - but keep getting my post rejected because they seem too much like they contain a L*I*N*K* - which is forbidden out here. Anyway, I'll try again. Search TVRacer d c, and you will get a daily listing of any-and-all racing & racing-related activity on the tube.....

Nooooooooo - Dang, I thought you were finally being funny for once, and then you posted this, and I checked the other & saw "Member since: Jun 28, 2014".......so, just another troll, or you, trolling yourself.
I'm probably asking for trouble when I bring up this topic - but, I have never imped anyone, and never will. I've been imped plenty of times - as have others here - and the people who matter always know it's an imp.....why should we care about the others? Especially since there aren't any out here, anymore.
Imping is the lowest form of trolling - not because it messes with another person's reputation - out here, who cares? But, because the people who imp really are messed up - they loathe themselves so much they want to BE whoever they are imping, or are so desperate for their attention, they will do anything to get it......they can't express themselves as themselves, or even as an alternative troll personality - they can't even have that much individualism. Y'All may laugh at the seriousness there - but it's true......imping is just the hungriest, most desperate form of trolling.....
So, either you are *imping* yourself, and finally said something funny - or, you have a stalker-type fan......good luck with that - been there, done that......anyway, if it's not you, it's probably the same person (betting on m) that is imping Razor, Bogey, me, and whomever else they hope will bite.......just a real desperate soul, considering only about 8 people will read these posts these days......
That one WAS funny though - talk about a first.....dang, I thought you'd broken thru and gotten a real sense of humor.....

Sharyn - I've been going thru a lot on the home-front this summer, as anyone who knows me can confirm - barely been online on my boards, or emailing, or that sort of thing - but I know I asked you to send me an email and you said you did - I'll check that account and reply, in order to get you over to another board. You'll really like the people there, and they will love you.....Razor & all the Good Guys & Us Awesome Women are there.
Sorry I didn't do it earlier - just, been traveling a lot and had an over-whelming amount to deal with on the home-front.
If I DON'T email you back tomorrow with details, Razor promises to shoot me in the head with a seriously loaded and meaning-business special.
I have tomorrow off, and just put e-mailing you back at the top of list of things to do in the afternoon.....
See You on the Other Board, soon.....unless your email didn't make it thru - lordy, I haven't checked that account in months - SHAME on me!

Here's a hint about Spammy: his age matches his IQ, and he once told everyone that Hollywood was making a movie sequel about him called, "The 67-Year-Old Virgin". That was last year, and what landed him in the asylum....
