  • I'm trying to start a Razzball league, the kind where the worst players are the best. It's a H2H pts league. Anywhere from 12-16 teams are good with me (we'll vote on which of 12/14/16 when we get 12). This is the scoring system. If you are interested post contact info, and i'll send invites. goodfold2. that is a yahoo email.

it's meant to make sure there isn't the type of collusion where one friend drops superstar just to watch his friend waiver them, it's a good idea, however, to fix this, change ALL IR slots to IR+ slots for next year in all your leagues, and convince any comishes to do the same, that will fix problem

when i say "slip a little" notice how other 1st 3 round goalies (consensus) that have fallen off this year (quick and rask); their owners teams are clearly hurt by having drafted them. And when you only have 3 keepers effectively they need to be top 3 round type players, if you want your team to be competitive)

You probably have better keepers than Rinne (he's good, vezina good this year, but he ain't young, and if he slips just a little you wouldn't even consider not taking a 4th round pick along with lesser goalie), So the value of grabbing a free 4th rounder for next year probably too good to pass up. Fleury straight up is crazy, Rinne's blown him away this year (unless you BOTH don't think Rinne is coming back soon, AND you are near playoffs, but not for sure in them).

  • 20 team dynasty H2H league with all Yahoo stats. start same as real life roster (4 of each forward position, 6 D, 1 goalie, can only own 2 active goalies at a time). 5 IR/ 5 IR+/ 5 NA slots, but can only keep up to 25 players per year (so each NA guy you keep takes away a real life active player to do it, till post draft). this roster
    C - crosby/turris/m.backlund (CGY)/mitchell/b.sutter
    LW -kunitz/burakovsky/horcoff/j.bailey
    RW -b.bennett/downie/hornqvist/d.jaskin
    D -letang/carlson/orpik/scandella/bortuzzo/despres/daley/d.pouliot
    G -fleury/gustavsson (stashed)
If i do this trade Horcoff is the drop, clearly.

    IR's- malkin/wingels/dupuis/maata/ehrhoff
    NA's- perlini (ARI)/ kaspanen (PIT)/ mantha/fucale
If i had more room to stash Mantha i'm thinking this might be harder, but i'm finding enough problems coming up with enough drops to make this 25 at most for next year already, so a big prospect might mean less to me. this team is clearly a top 5 team, and any draft picks it would have next year would be awful, as is. (also, not snake draft). Only likely drops are
Mitchell (good for what he does, but it can be found early season in free agency)
depres (good hits/blocks, but probably eventually loses job to maata)
bortuzzo (possibly same thing as depres)
jaskin (if he doesn't at some point do more than get hits, he is highly ranked prospect)
2nd goalie (decent backups do exist in this league, earlier i owned kuemper when he was starter). A lot of the value of even owning good NA guys in this league is simply as trade bait (if you're team is good anyway, a weak team clearly would be better off keeping some of them over active players).

I'm guessing this deal is slam dunk? After doing stats on it (this year game averages) i come out ahead in faceoffs (which i need/ goals (.23 per game more)/ PPP/SHP/hits, and pretty much everything except plus/minus and blocks (and i'm best team in league at blocks). Kelly seems like a slightly better Horcoff really.

i've never played in one either; so if you are worried about being less versed in it than some, you'll be in the same boat as me, the comish. I really want to try one myself.

    staal or spezza?

yeah, even when spezza WAS on that line early is year he didn't do nearly anything. Only thing right now that he has massive edge on is faceoffs, and this is only due to J.Staal taking those now that he's on same line as Eric. I really never was a fan of either , but i took this team over mid last season and we've upped the keepers from 4-6. Spezza was one of the 4 keepers for this team preseason, as this team's offense isn't good. I just traded Rinne/1st rounder (really 7th round value since 6 keepers) for Tatar/H.Sedin/F.Andersen/8th rounder (really 14th round player value). The players i dropped were Komarov (terrible since Ovechkin injury, along with entire TOR) and some other schlubby players.

  • which one of these (clearly it's the good staal here), in 6 keeper league with all yahoo stats except blocks? staal's finally not hurt, spezza's been good lately after being healthy and #$%$ for most of year, considering how good of an offensive team he's on.
