Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Can you explain how the hell Dez fell to you in the 2nd round, AJ in the 3rd, and Rodgers in the 4th? I smell something fishy or we not getting whole story... Just don't believe you were able to draft 2 of the top 4 wr as well as top 3 qb and top 5-7 rb... I've done hundreds of mocks and real and haven't seen those players drop like that once,....
Ryan = Romo
Thomas = Nelson
T Smith Harvin
Bowe = Boykin
Kickers who cares
Denver = Houston
I like team 9 wr better... I think Murray can be a top 5 rb this season... prefer te better too. Qb is a wash... defense is a wash. I like team 6 rb3 better. Don't care for either team's rb depth at all... same can be said for wr5/6
IF I had to choose I'd pick team 9 based on starting 3 wr... more depth for trades etc...
Drafted 4th overall. I wanted one of the top 3 rb... none fell... I'm not sold on Lacy's ability to stay healthy (plus burned badly by Martin, Slaton, etc so hesitant to invest high picks on young rbs in 2nd years) and not sold on Forte continuing to get tds.... I decided I wanted an elite wr... so obviiously had to take Calvin. (I prefer the ones at end of round and was hoping to be able to trade a 2 for 2 deal for one of those and upgrade at other position).
Anyways drafted as follows:
Ellington (Ellington and Spiller were best available...)
P. Thomas (timed out... wanted Olsen or FJax here both went immediately before... I then was going Reed but I got booted from app wound up with Thomas)
Rudolph only remaining TE was Ertz... people were starting to take backup tight ends at that point
I rarely draft qbs early... and It appears to have bitten me... although I personally rank Rodgers the #1 qb this season. At 2nd round i thought it was too soon for Nelson who was only player I was seriously considering... Bell was there and intriguing... as well as Foster and Martin... Ultimately it was Rodgers that won out over Nelson and Bell...
My personal observations... lots of upside... obviously weak at rb1... but at least 1 of my young rbs should break out... I should have at very least a solid rb2 between tate and west. Either Ellington or Spiller could/should be a low end rb1/highend rb2. Weak at wr2... Wayne/Hilton should provide a solid wr3 option
Freeman could very well be a lottery ticket winner... with SJax injury history...
Gates is a wasted pick... Pick up green or ertz or someone... Gates is DONE... Don't know how u got Bryant to fall to you in 2nd and Murray to 3rd... That's #$%$... Seems your league mates are stupid... You basically have 5 top 30 players... And 3 top 15...
Dez, July, Jeffery...
If I could get Dez for Doug Martin... I'm doing so IMMEDIATELY while doing cartwheels. He is Calvin Johnson... I don't care what anyone says...
Also do it for Julio IMMEDIATELY... but am crossing my fingers on his foot...
Jeffery... I think long and hard and wait as long as possible to see how pre-season progresses... to see A) How Martin looks and B) To see if Cutler even notices Jeffery is on his team...
Says you. Not everyone else feels that way... Some people feel that Peterson is on down hill slope of his career... and may not even pick him in the first 5 picks... (I'm not one of those people)... Everyone values players differently otherwise we'd all just do auto draft picks and whoever whens the draft lottery wins those players assigned to that draft slot.
How is that unfair?! So say his best player is Doug Martin... why should he be forced to keep Doug Martin... he doesn't want a keeper he gets to pick first and pick say a Montee Ball or Dez Bryant... some people are just unlucky... maybe he drafted Martin and MJD Victor Cruz and Larry Fitzgerald... you may want to play hard but I guarantee if his team is bad enough and you don't have a way of actually improving team (some people just don't have skill)... the manager WILL quit and no one will be interested in picking up his #$%$ team... thus league has to reset or goes away...
If you miss on your first 2 picks you're basically done for season since they usually get you most points... I think gambling on 2 injury prone rbs in the first 2 rounds is too much ris... IMO and I like both of them... If they pan out to what I think they will... then you're golden but if one busts or one gets injured and misses extended time you're way behind... and it could be even worse both could bust or get injured and you're already preparing for fantasy baseball...
I'd go ELITE wr at 7... either Calvin or Dez and then shoot for Murray or Foster in round 2... I want an ELITE wr or I'm not happy no matter the perceived depth... I think rb2 is most overrated position... I want 2 wrs in first 3 rounds... I then take rbs round 4-8... lots of good options that can develop into solid or even great rb2s...
Impossible to say.... generally trades are hardest to complete after draft and before games play as nearly everyone loves their team... until chips start falling where they will...
Depends on if there are any Bills fans, etc... Let him blow up in a preseason game... get some more hype...
Hell I'd probably try and trade Peterson and Watkins for Charles or McCoy... they may bite...
Standard yes... ppr no... I'd probably go Dez... I think I can get a comparable rb in the 2nd to Lacy... Ball, Murray, Foster, etc... In fact I think in PPR I like Murray better... I expect Murray to catch 50+ this season and to have one of best o-lines in game.
