There is a place on your MY TEAM page specifically for smack talk. This was added 2 years ago by Yahoo, meaning that Yahoo not only ALLOWS for talking trash, but they encourage it by expanding to areas other than the message board.
You dont need to give him his money back...you need to forfeit your "win" to him and let him continue through the playoffs. He earned it, you didn't. Your only way to be fair is to give yourself the loss. -

No you couldn't. Because if it was apparent that you were doing it on purpose that many times, you would be black flagged and suspended. Idiot.

Is there money at stake? if so, spend tonight researching all of his players stats, and yours. compare them against several websites to confirm their accuracy. Then, go back and research the stats in yahoo and make sure that they match these other websites. Then, compare those stats vs. the scoring rules for your league, and score the head to head matchup, on paper, yourself (do it one player at a time for both your team, and the other team). If you do not find a discrepancy, then bench your TE. If you are not sure (or if you do not feel like doing all that work), then play the odds that he is more likely to score positive points than negative points and start him.
Of course, if there is nothing at stake but a yahoo trophy, then just start him and save yourself the trouble. -

I am assuming that the week before your playoffs you are speaking of is week 14. Arizona played Seattle that week, NE played Pittsburgh, and Miami played Buffalo. Obviously, a players best chance of winning would be starting Brady, Moss, and NE Def regardless of matchups, but since you are splitting hairs over the rules of "fair play", I think it should be pointed out to you that the "statistical matchups" for Miami D, Warner and Fitz against their respective opponents were better than the statistical matchups for Brady, Moss, and NE DEF.
It isn't like he started Vick, or someone else that was deliberately cheating. He didn't start his best players, but he started players that COULD HAVE put up just as good of numbers. if he was going to "Lose on purpose" as your message title states, he could have just benched everyone. THAT would be a deliberate loss on purpose. You FUBAR-ed this one. It sounds like you cost a deserving player a spot in the playoffs. -

Fitz (if healthy) is catching passes from Kurt Warner (Boldin likely out) against Seattle
Johnson is catching passes from Sage Rosenfels (Schaub out), against Tampa
Colston is catching passes from Drew Brees, against Atlanta.
Out of the 3 teams opposing your WR, Tampa allows the least amount of fantasy points to wide receivers, and Seattle allows the most. Out of the 3 quarterbacks, Rosenfels is EASILY the one I would least want on my fantasy team.
So...worst QB, least favorable matchup = Don't use Johnson.
Good QB, Boldin out, increased workload, most favorable matchup = Use Fitz (if healthy)
Good QB, ok matchup = use Colston if Fitz doesnt play. -

If you don't have faith in him, then bench him...don't drop him. You would hate to drop him, have your opponent pick him up, insert him into his active lineup, and THAT be the week that he blows up.
