Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'd look Rendon probably. Harper is very tempting. As is Puig and Altuve. I'd grab the guy you want to root for. There is no wrong answer in that group.
Obviously they can. But you run the risk of using too many roster spots... Last year I had Wade Davis and Betances. 14 W, 245 K, 1.25 ERA, 0.80 WHIP, 162 IP. That's better than Kershaw. And that's also a rarity getting two guys like that... I wouldn't clutter your roster with too many non-closer RPs. I'd focus on maybe Giles, Miller, and Boxberger. 2 of those 3. You'll likely get 10-15 saves with around 200 Ks and great ratios. It's better than rostering an Aaron Hill type.
I guess we're thinking of different Eatons. I'm thinking of the 75 R, 1 HR, 35 RBI, 15 SB, .300 BA one with the Sox.. Not sure what Eaton you're referring to?
I mean, ideally I'd a have a perfect rotation and a perfect offense. Since it's a snake draft I wasn't able to get 5 top 10 SP and 5 top 10 hitters. I tried though... And I'd much rather litter my BN with high upside bats than nobodies that happen to qualify at SS/2B/3B. 40/5/50/5/.240 isn't more valuable because they qualify in every position. It's still worthless.
That's pretty close.... I like Castro to start doing some things. I could see a Hanley type of line in about 200 more ABs. Will Wainwright keep it together or fall apart? Who knows... Gut says B. But I could see this working out for both sides.
I took little risk because of where I drafted those guys. VMart and Doolittle will miss little time, if any. Bailey a short stint. Drafted Fernandez way late with the intention of stashing him.
It's a 10 team league, so I didn't feel too bad dropping him.... Yea, I think Jabari will be good. But if Klay stays top 10, well then Jabari won't ever catch him... I really needed a SG/SF. I actually added DeRozan later in the year, so I didn't need the trade after all... I got Bosh before he was out. I was thrilled. With him out I'm another peg down. I needed a guy. I have Holiday, George, and Griffin all out. I figured Gortat is about a good as Bosh healthy, so why now.
This shouldn't be that close... Mesoraco is a C. That eliminates him. Arrieta is a P. That eliminates him. And Kemp is an injury-prone OF going to a big park. I'd say at best he does what he did last year, which was worse than Dickerson.

Standard 5x5 Scoring
The draft was rough. Not a fan of the first pick. The back end of the draft was much better. Someone got Goldschmidt/Jones. The guys I almost took 2/3 went in the 4/5... Not a huge fan of my squad, but I have something to work with.... I'll likely add another hitter once Fernandez is DL eligible.

Good ones -
1. I dealt Jabari Parker for Klay Thompson in my dynasty pre-season... Feeling pretty good about that.
2. Traded Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans for DeMarcus Cousins pre-season too. Same league. Loving that.
3. Traded Beverly for Beal in a keeper, then added Beverly off waivers a month later
4. Traded Iguodala and Eric Gordon for Teague
Bad ones -
1. Gave Amir Johnson for Danny Green, then dropped Green like a week later.
2. Gave Paul Milsap for Nicholas Batum. Though it's in my dynasty so I feel good long term.
3. Gave Brook Lopez for Chris Bosh a few weeks ago. But then I was able to get Gortat for Bosh after he was out (dynasty)
Not sure what the points are determined by... but I'd take Betts long term. However, it might be a year or two before he gets to Dozier's production. Same story with Wong. I'd still probably take Betts.
Did both managers help their teams? Then that's who won... Never understood the whole "who wins" thing. It's not about winning. It's about making your team better. If I have to "lose" a trade to make my team better, then I'll do it...
You can't keep Mookie. He doesn't have a full time position and will likely only see 400 ABs or so. Bryant will only see 400 ABs but can do a whole hell of a lot more with them than Mookie can... But don't overlook your 3B that went 29/20 last year. The power is real. The coach let's them run. Why would you pass on that for guys that may or may not play?
