Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I have semien holding down 2B until rendon returns. He has played pretty well and has 2B/SS/3B eligiblity that should be pretty nice for a bench guy when rendon does return.
Forgot to mention that due to my team being a huge let down last season, I dealt anyone with value that wasn't a keeper throughout the year for draft picks. As a result my last draft pick where I made a pick was the 14th round where I had 2 picks. After the 14th round I had either traded the picks away (because to trade picks you have to give picks...at least in our league) or a keeper was slotted in for that pick. This is why you see some guys taken "early"... While they shouldn't have gone that early, my entire team was filled out by the time 14th round came up allowing me to use those picks on guys like Rodon and Giles.
Is this doorknob going to be a decent option to own this year as a whole or do you think he'll be an up and down guy with lower-middle of the road or worse numbers? I know I know, it's one start! but this league had a tie for 1st last year and third place was 0.5 points back from both of them. There's some very good teams and a small margin of error.
10 team roto keeper league (keep 9 players every year); my staff is as follows:
SP Harvey - 7th round value
SP Kluber - 19th round value
RP Betances - "way to early to even consider keeping him" value (was drunk for the draft and he was my one mistake)
RP Casilla - 9th round value
P Giles - 14th round value
P Castro - FA this year value
P Grienke - 2nd round value
P Hutchison - FA this year value
BN Lester - 2nd round value
BN Jose Fernandez - 15th round value (picked up as FA as a rookie, had so many last round value guys he slid to 15th)
DL Darvish - 13th round value
NA Rodon - 14th round value
My take on my staff is that while i'm short on starters, the ones I have are very solid options. I hope to get a nice little (at least decent) half year from fernandez, and some at least decent contribution from Rodon when he gets the call. Darvish I drafted in the 13th round as strictly a guy I could trade to sure up any deficiencies (probably saves) for a championship run. Keepers are kept in the round they were last drafted in.
I feel I don't need hutchison to be the breakout candidate some expect him to be, but I just need him to be decent. To be an arm that gets some wins, doesn't kill my ERA or WHIP and gets me some K's. In yalls opinion can he be decent enough to do that?
I get everyone's excited, but trading preseason is terrifying. Anything can happen, why not stick with the guys you drafted until the season at least starts?
10 team fun dynasty league with my friends. I have rendon as my 2B, Baez as another option obviously called down. I need to pick up a 2B before opening day. Roto league. There's some good talent in the FA pool as there's only 10 teams. Here is some guys in the FA pool. I'm looking for a guy that can produce some in the short term however possible (until rendon gets back) but the most important criteria is that he play every day (only keep 9 players each year so he likely won't be vying for a keeper spot.)
Literally just pick one, i'm just looking that he play every day.
