Guy In my league wants Posey and McCutchen. What do I ask for?
by kelly h Apr 1, 2013 10:50 AMFrankly, I think the other guy come off a bit better than you with that offer. You had an advantage over him in that he came to you looking for your very best, and you probably should have tried to drive a much harder bargain. Set your sights high before lowering them. If he refused, then you could have tried for a different mix of players. Unfortunately, now that you've set the bar with that offer, it will be much harder for you to get a good return on McCutch and Posey. Do try, though. He's asking for two players who could BOTH go 110-30-110-.330, and McCuthceon could also easily get 30 SB. You need to replace all of that.

Fantastic! I've got Harper on that team!
Thanks for the confirmation on Simmons. I personally think he's got a huge upside potential, and Jeter, being old, will probably not be the same when he comes back from his injury. - Reply to

by kelly h Apr 1, 2013 10:50 AMHe's asking for a first rounder and a second rounder from you, so you need AT LEAST the same from him. I'd suggest asking for Verlander, Stanton and Rosario, for your McCutcheon and Posey.
In general, when someone wants your best two players, you have every right to ask for the world in return.
Can you answer my question about Andrelton Simmons? -
My DL is already occupied by Chase Headley, whom I rate much higher than Jeter.

I'd take the Kemp side of that, unless my SP was really weak. Griffin is better than Kennedy, but Kemp is much better than Cargo. For Kemp the sky's the limit. If he stays healthy, he could seriously go 40-40-.330.

I agree. Pagan will get you runs, average, and SB, plus reasonable RBI and a few HR. He's got a number of good years left in him, unlike Ortiz, and bats first or second in a good lineup.

That's actually a pretty good squad. I'd get rid of Beckett if I were you, though, as he's pretty much done. See if you can find someone who's a Beckett fan in your league and trade him for another closer.

Simmons is available in one of my leagues, and my only shortstop is Jeter who just went on the DL. I'm leaning very strongly towards dropping Jeter and picking up Simmons but would appreciate hearing anyone's general opinions on Simmons. What sort of numbers do you all expect him to put up this year?
Thanks in advance. -
Both had similar numbers last year. The team with Jeter has Castro at SS. The team with Fowler has lots of OF and has Ramirez at SS, who is now out for two months. Is the team with Jeter taking advantage of the other guy? Or is it a fair offer? Or should the team with Jeter actually be asking for more, given Ramirez' injury?
