    yes

It all depends what the commish decides and sets up for your league. Usually options are set up for none, 1, or 2. You will get a pick in 1st or 2nd round if you decide not to fill your pick with a keeper.

The player must be officially placed on IR by the NFL. If he comes off IR, you must move that player out of that slot

IR sits as an extra spot on your roster until needed. Yahoo will only allow you to move a player into that slot if the NFL team actually places the player on IR. Just being hurt doesn't qualify. I used it last year to stash Percy Harvin for most of the season.

    Waiver/Pickup Help

Sorry, I made a mistake. Your setting of "first game of the week" freezes ALL players at the start of the first game of the week instead of their individual game times. Be careful..... this will hinder a manager from picking up a player Sat. night or Sunday morning if there is a Thur night game that week.

If you want teams to only be granted one pick up at a time as it goes through the order instead of all they request, change your wavier wire setting to "continual rolling list.

You're almost there. Change your setting of Time players are on waviers to "No waviers". With the other settings the way you have them, your season will go like this: After the draft, all unowned players are up for grabs to be claimed on a first come basis up until their game time, at which time they become "frozen" until Tue night. Teams will submit the players they want to pick up off waivers and prioritize them. Then, sometime shortly after midnight on Tue night, Yahoo will process your league. The team in last place will be granted all of the players they requested. Then the next worst team will be granted the players they requested, in their priority order if they are available. Then the next worst team, and so forth until finished. At that point, any unowned players, including those that may have just been dropped, are up for grabs on a first come basis until their game time that week. The system will repeat like this the following Tue.

You are on the wrong message board. This board is to help comissioners run their leagues. Don't clog it up. Who cares anyway. It depends on how the players perform, stay healthy, etc.

The old commissioner needs to start up the league for 2014. He can then go into settings under commissioner tools and name a replacement.

Add players after the opening game?

I can't imagine you having your draft on 9/4 after the game has started or is completed. It sounds like you want to draft on the 4th, but won't have time to imput the rosters until after the game . That's okay. Yahoo gives you a week or so. The deadline is posted somewhere in "edit team settings" I think. When you complete the imput, the stats will automatically update correctly.

Go to league settings, "all unowned players after draft" can be set to follow wavier rules.

    Wavier wire setting?

    by Glenn G Aug 9, 2014 2:17 PM

That's not the scenario I want ..... so should I change my setting to "Reverse order of standings"? That's my question .... I'm not sure which is which. One way will allow the last place team to get all of their picks before the next team gets any, ..... the other way will only grant one pick at a time.

  • Each week, I want the last place team to have first pick on the wavier wire, (they only get one player), next worst team to get a pick ,and so on until all teams have a chance to pick up a player. Then we go through the same proceedure as a second round. This continues until all requests are filled. I put my settings on "weekly rolling list based on standings". Is this the right setting?

    Experienced Keeper knowledge needed

I was in a keeper league where we could keep up to 3 players. We drafted knowing that the next year would start the keeper league. Teams would have to declare their keepers a week before the draft, and the picks would go as 1st, 2nd, or 3rd rounds. If someone only kept one player, they would get a pick in the 2nd and 3rd round. Draft order was set by reverse order of standings from previous year. First 3 rounds of draft were regular order. Snake draft started with 4th round. Also, you could only declare the same player a keeper for 2 seasons, then he went to free agency. (that means you actually had him for 3 seasons) This created interesting scenarios as time went on and kept the league as a keeper league instead of a dynasty league.
    Hope these ideas help..........good luck.........
