    Answering your fantasy questions

    by Christopher Jul 18, 2014 9:13 AM

Thanks. After reviewing who everyone should be keeping, I have come to the conclusion that these guys will be available at the start of the draft. Names in parentheses are guys who may or may not be dropped, depending on who the manager chooses to keep: Dez(M.Ball,JC), D.Murray(DT,Brees), Stacy(Marshall), Cobb, Gio(Peyton), D.Martin, Spiller(Ellington).

So at #3 I will be able to grab either Dez, Marshall, Gio, or D.Murray. I'll take any of them to put with Shady and Julio to start my squad.

Julio or D.Martin. Which would you keep?

10 teams...1/4 PPR, 1/10 point per carry, 1 point bonuses at 100/150/200 rushing/receiving. QB 2 WR, 2 RB, TE, W/T, W/R/T, DEF, K. Keep 2 using 1st two round picks. MUST keep 2....therefore a few studs will be dropped.

Keeping Shady for sure. Have Gordon, but you see how that worked out...lol. Torn between Julio and D.Martin as my #2. If I had to choose today it's Julio for sure. Don't have to pick till after preseason, so I will be monitoring that. Have the #3 pick after keepers, so I will get a good solid pick there as well. Guys available will likely be Spiller, Ellington, Gio, Cobb, Dez(or M.Ball), D.Murray, Stacy, and Martin if I drop him.

    Keep Julio, right?

I agree with there only being 4 elite RB's. Lacy only has one season under his belt. Lynch could be devalued by Michael and a healthy Harvin stealing carries. Like Blues said, after the top 4 I'm going Calvin, then Graham, DT, Dez or AJ Green before I take a RB. Then I'd probably rank them Foster, Lynch, Lacy, Murray, Bell, Morris, Martin, Ball, Gio...etc. Something like that.

This season I think the #4 QB will be between Stafford and Brady.

#7 RB will be either Foster, Murray, or Martin IMO.

I don't trust Ball...and I have been a HUGE fan of him since Wisconsin. It's true that Mannings RB's are productive, but if you can't CONSISTENTLY pass protect, you don't stay on the field. Unless he GREATLY excels at that, watch out for one of his backups to step in.

Which Tate is which? Is that Ray Rice or Sidney?

If it's Ray I say ABSOLUTELY you do that trade. He is WAY undervalued this year! Suspension will be 2 games at most. He's not gonna miss a beat. Last year was a fluke. That hip injury was more serious than they let on, and he tried to come back too early. Pierce won't do enough to take his job. And I feel ya on Gronk. I have him in a dynasty league and just keep getting let down. I truly do believe this is the year he stays healthy though. Or plays AT LEAST 14 games. I'd still rather have Graham though.

It was a keeper through 2012, 4 players. I had Rodgers, Charles, Rice, and Cruz as keepers when we went into our dynasty draft least year. Charles was an IR stash from the year he got injured. Traded AP and Cam for Rodgers and Cruz the year before. Got gronk, when he was injured, for a trade involving D.Wilson when he was set to explode. I KILLED the draft last year. I was returning champ and got Jordy and Witten with my first two picks at the end of our first round. Got Austin in round 8 (meh), Harvin in round 12, Patterson in 14, Moreno in 20, and took a chance with Lattimore in 21. Had #1 waiver to start the season and kept it till Foles emerged, just in time for Rodgers injury. Randle was a waiver pickup as well. I actually recently acquired Marshall in a trade. With Rices looming suspension, and Moreno's almost certain demise, I needed a starting RB pretty bad, and my draft picks weren't gonna be clear cut starters. A guy in my league has a MAJOR man crush on Foles. He made a trade just a few weeks prior for Shady, and was DYING to pair them up. I made him sweat for a few weeks then gave up my #10 and #15 picks along with Foles and Cruz....for....M.Ryan, Marshall, Trent, and Ballard (cuff).

I'm happy with it. If Trich steps up, he's a dynasty gem. Marshall may only have a few productive seasons left, but he's a super stud till then. My team was 12-2 last year, and that's without Marshall and Trent, with Arod and Gronk only playing about half a season, and no help from Harvin. I will lose Morenos production, but I think the other guys will make up for it. Took 3rd only cause of my LOWEST game of the year in week 16 (week 17 championship). And Charles BIG game in week 15 was my bye...lol.

    Dynasty TE - Pitta?

Word for word, I agree with Blues. Pittas value is too low for that.

  • Gibbs Gibbs Jul 19, 2014 8:22 AM Flag

I agree that you should NOT worry about bye weeks when drafting. I'd take Jordy here 10/10 times.

I have never tried it, but I have heard of people TRYING to get a full squad of players all with the same bye week. You will surely lose one game, but you won't have to worry about replacing people over the course of 4-5 weeks instead. I'm not saying I'd shoot for it, but if it happens, oh well. You can't win em all.

Pretty solid from top to bottom! 9.5/10. Get a top 3 QB and you have a solid 10/10!

Check this one out...this is my dynasty team. 12 teams 1/2 PPR, 1 point per 30 return yards + TDs. Higher than normal QB points. Bonuses for passing, rushing, receiving, and returning.
    qb: rodgers
    wr: jordy
    wr: marshall
    rb: charles
    rb: rice (when not suspended)
    te: gronk
    w/t: harvin
    w/r/t: patterson
    def: NE
    BENCH: m.ryan, t.richardson, k.moreno, andre brown, k.davis, m.lattimore, v.ballard, t.austin, j.maclin, c.shorts, r.randle, j.witten

LOL...not too shabby for a 12 teamer huh? My bench will beat some teams starters from week to week.

PPR Draft Strategy 10 teams keep 2

I actually kinda like Foster this year. I think you can afford to gamble with 2 stud WR's already.

    quick question regarding my keepers!

    by Ken M Jul 18, 2014 1:42 PM
Gibbs Gibbs Jul 18, 2014 7:14 PM Flag

He had better check keeper trade league rules before he goes through with that. In my leagues if you trade guys away they are still considered your keepers. So he would be basically using two spots to keep Lacy, and he would keep Calvin. Stafford couldn't be a keeper. YOU would be ok, but he would be screwing himself.

No. I have been talking about Ball since his early days in Wisconsin, but I don't believe in him now. If he was there in the 3rd round I MIGHT consider drafting him...but that's about it.

I'd go WR/RB then RB/WR myself. If you wait for RB's in rounds 3-4 you wont have a lot to choose from. Option #2.

Morris, Martin, and Stacy will be gone by the end of round 3.
