I know commisioners can set roster limits for leagues. Does Yahoo have a limit as to how big a commisioner can set the league's roster size?

I have played a few leagues with points. It is, in my opinion, harder to catch up in a points league than it is in roto. This is because in roto the first place team can lose points because the 8th place team passed them in RBI. This means that the 2nd place team does not have to catch up to the 1st place team all by themselves.

In a points league the 2nd place team has to make up the points all by themselves.

Another thing to think about is in a points league you should have negative points. A single may be 1 point but a strikeout or hitting into a double play should lose you 1 point. you do not have to but most point leagues do as it tends to distiguish the better players.

You did say you had a dynasty league. This may complicate things. Some players are good in roto are not as good in a point league. Players that are your roto SB guys that are not really good for other categories may be useless in a points league. As this is the case (IMO) you may have owners mad at you because the rules change has just made thier good players bad.

Wellcome to the world of fantasy baseball.

    1) When a player is on the real life DL, a DL slot will become available. Depending on how you are editing your roster (classic or drag and drop) if you use drag and drop when you drag the DLed player the dl spot will appear. you can just put him there when it happens.

    2) no, you can not see other owner's waiver claims. this prevents people with the better claim position from preventing other owner from getting players via the wire.

    3) On your team page it should indicate that you have a waiver claim with a link to see the details. this should be towards the top of your team page above the batters but below your team name.

Good luck and i hope you like fantasy baseball.

does yahoo allow for keepers to be drafted in specific rounds?

For example, I am in a league that is discussing using the previous years draft position determine this years draft position. For example, I drafted Jayson Werth last year in the 12th round. This year, if I want to keep him, I will have to give up my 9th round pick. Does yahoo have a way that we can implement this type of draft?

I know Yahoo's draft system for keepers would usually just use the top rounds for keepers but we do not want that.

that would make it so each owner could have two teams and still have one team win it think more owners would need to be involved and it would be difficult to make sure the AL owners only picked the AL players off the waiver wire throughout the season and trades between teams would have to monitored to make sure AL players do not go to NL teams an vice versa.

thanks for the input though it did address my original concern.

i have asked this before but as we are closer to the season I thought I would try again

I am in a keeper league that switched from using Average to On Base Percentage. The box score, when using average, listed H/AB in the first column and AVG in the last column.

Now that we have switched to OBP, the last column shows OBP but the first column still lists H/AB.

Will this change to reflect what makes up OBP or will the H/AB info (which is useless as it does not include walks) still be listed?

In the Commish tools the options for "Draft Type" are 'Live Standard Draft' and 'Live Auction Draft'. The 'Live Standard Draft' is described as "In a Live Standard Draft, every team selects one player per round until their roster is full. The draft order reverses each round, so the team that starts the first round will end the second, and the team that ends the first round will start the second."

Is there a Straight Draft option where it does not snake? We were able to do that last season.

I am the commish of a keeper league. If I have already put the players that are to be kept in the draft do I still have to approve of keepers? I believe last season I just put in the players to be drafted as keepers but want to make sure the draft list takes precedence of the keeper list.

    Thanks,
    Clayton
