Bobrovsky was fine but the Flyers picked up Bryzgalov in the off season and agve him a huge contract

Does you league have goalie minimums? Most leagues-- its a minimum of 3 games in a week or you forfeit all goalie stats that week . If you have those, its an issue. Nittymaki is likely to play one game in 3 for a confident to make the playoffs San Jose while Philly has revamped enough that they might roll Bryzgalov a LOT if they fear not making the playoffs I could see lots of weeks where you struggle to make goalie games-- Oh and if you ever get NIemi hurt ?? Ouch. Get another goalie !!!

Oh and the autopick thing helps explain a lot--

Ya I thought all the multi postion guys was odd. I generally find that once you have say 3 of those types, thats all the flexibility you need to avoid empty roster spots with another position sitting (among the forwards)

I like the Getzlaf side of this trade. It does depend on league structure etc etc and how you are looking on the wings but

    1. I like the potential for the named two players better anyway
    2. Devils are slated to become more defensive
    3. I generally like diversifying my scoring across teams anyway -- Two players on the same team and more particularly the same PP or line can lead to a much more streaky fantasy team

I would do this trade unles there was something compelling reason on your roster not to (ie if you have 3 stud RW and St Louis would be on the bench too much)

I'd probably take Hiller. He is similar to Varlamov in that he may be the starter for a good team or the back-up or a platoon but Hiller is more proven. The biggest risk with Hiller is that Giguere plays great and takes away lots of starts.

With Varlamov, he himself is riskier but you probably have a higher probability that Theodore could play like crap and surrender the number 1 spot

It looks obscenely good up front with the first few players. What was the format that allowed you to get Ovechkin and Malkin? was this an auction??

Oh and I don't love your goalkeeping

Hiller-- might be the starter but word out of Anaheim is that they are letting Hiller and Giguere fight it out-- might be a platoon

Khabibulin- ok keeper on a questionable team

    Elliott-- pure backup

So I am curious as to the setup-- Your first few forwards look too good. Up front I see 4-6 guys that could go in the first two rounds of a 12 manager league. But then Sundin??

    You missed my point.

The point is that Malkin goes ahead of Luongo in like 90% of the drafts out there. Most people rank him higher. So for someone to offer up Luongo for Malkin plus something seems backwards. It should be Luongo plus value for Malkin.

Since the proposer wants Clemmenson, that helps you to ask for something else in return

I don't love your goaltending but otherwise a good solid team. and even the goaltending could be very good. But with Emery who knows?

"And if yuo can read Mike - all NHL players are at the same risk of MAJOR injuries - call your mom or have some one call her so she can interpret it for you."

Actually no they are not. While a fluke injury can happen to anyone

    1. some players through better physical conditioning decrease the risk of many strains and pulls

    2. Some players simply have stronger or less strong bones

    3. Some players have chronic problems that make them more susceptible to certauin injuries

    4. Finally style of play-- Are you going to tell me that Kristinn Huseleius (who can't spell "bodycheck" let alone perform one) has the same risk of injury as a bonecruncher or a guy that fights?

NHL Fan your statement is demonstrably false on its face

    To echo others

you need better goaltending-- Rask starts as the backup to the Vezina winner while Vokuun is the presumptive #1 with a good team that still has their #1 from last year. Its not crazy to think Neuvirth gets 30+ starts even if Vokuun is healthy.

If THomas falters AND the caps ride Vokuun you will be fine but its just as likely your two keepers will have arouind 80 starts betweenh them

Are there any goalies still available? Even picking Neuvirth might be worthwhile as an insurance policy
