  • 12-team, 5x5, H2H Keeper League (keep 5, at least one P)

Current keepers are: Kershaw (can keep through 2018), Arenado (17), Rizzo (17), Bryant (18), and Odor (18)

I have been offered Sano (18) and Cole (18) for Bryant. Would you do it? Which is the better set of keepers:

A - Kershaw, Arenado, Rizzo, Bryant, and Odor

B - Kershaw, Arenado, Rizzo, Sano, and Cole

    Thanks!

Better keepers after blockbuster 3-for-2 trade?

We have a 4-year keeper limit. You basically have to replace keepers as necessary, usually through the draft. I always expect to draft 1-2 possible keepers every year. The trick is keeping the pipeline relatively full.

    Top 4 picks?

Depends on league size and scoring format. Taking position players with your first four picks isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I would want better 5-category balance and position balance (assuming a relatively normal scoring format).

Current keepers are: Kershaw (can keep through 2018), Bryant (2018), Arenado (2017), Rizzo (2017), and Odor (2018)

Talking with another owner about the following: Arenado and Rizzo for Correa (2018), Votto (2018), and Syndergaard (2018)

    Which do you like better:

    A - Kershaw (18), Bryant (18), Arenado (17), Rizzo (17), and Odor (18)

    B - Kershaw (18), Bryant (18), Correa (18), Votto (18), and Syndergaard (18)

Thanks. I currently have A and someone offered my Springer and Syndergaard for Arenado.

    First overall pick

What is the point system? The argument for Kershaw is the delta between him and the other SPs, but, even though Kershaw is the clear #1 among SPs, SP is deep.

  • 12-team, 5x5, H2H Keeper League (keep 5)

Which is the better set of keepers (with year I can keep the player through)

    A: Kershaw (2018), Bryant (18), Rizzo (17), Arenado (17), Odor (18)

    B: Kershaw (2018), Bryant (18), Rizzo (17), Springer (17), Syndergaard (18)

Yeah, it basically boils down to trading two years of Arenado (and not keeping Odor) for two years of Springer and three years of Syndergaard.

    Thanks!

Gomez's age (and recent injury) does come into play for his SBs. Most projections are calling for 20-25 SBs from him in 2016. Again, based on value, I'd take Gomez and Rendon. I guess you can make the trade in the hopes of flipping someone else for more SBs. I just don't see Gomez being a difference maker in that category.

With his other hitters, I'd prefer Gomez and Rendon, too, if it was just based on value. They do carry more risk, between Rendon's long injury history and Gomez's age. You pretty much know what you're going to get from Cano and Beltre.

Its just that if he's looking for SBs, I think Cano and Beltre can fetch more than Gomez's 20+.

    Trade Arenado or Bryant?

I prefer Betts over Marte. I can't decide between one year of Scherzer or three years of Price or Cole. Scherzer is just that nasty.

Would you keep Bryant or Arenado?

You have BA and power throughout your line-up, so I would target a true or potential difference maker (e.g., Gordon, Hamilton - warts and all, Blackmon, Burns, Marte) in SBs. Gomez was that guy two years ago, but don't be surprised if he finishes 2016 with 20-25 SBs.

Rendon and Gomez have higher upsides than Cano and Beltre, but significantly more risk. Cano is still a marquee name and can fetch a decent return in the right trade.

    Keeper help!

Does this mean you can keep Seager in 2017 for $2 and in 2018 for $4? If so, keep Seager.

  • 12-team, 5x5, H2H Keeper League

First four keepers are no-brainers: Kershaw (can keep thru 2018), Rizzo ('17), Bryant ('18), Arenado ('17)

I do not have the best options for a 5th keeper; Chapman, Wainwright, Gregory Polanco, Odor, Maikel Franco

Another owner is willing to do a 2-for-1 trade for Bryant or Arenado. I would get a SP and a hitter.

Would you take Scherzer ('16), Price ('18) or Gerrit Cole ('18)? Pair with Mookie Betts ('18) or Starling Marte ('17)?

And who would you trade, Arenado or Bryant?

    Thanks!
