If I were in your shoes, I would definitely go Liriano. I used the same reasoning a while ago not to start Garza against the Tigers (he had been historically bad against them, and had been having some struggles as of late recently, to the point that I didn't totally trust him.) He then threw a no-hitter. It's not the same Tigers team that it was earlier in the year, injuries and all that have put them on a downhill slide. I've got Liriano on one of my teams and will definitely be playing him against the Tigers.

Pulled the trigger. You're right...Konerko is having a very good year, and there's no reason to think that won't continue. Hamilton was underwhelming before getting hurt, and it will be a while before he gets back too. Hanrahan has been very good so far, I like him, but still, it's not like the Pirates are gonna be giving him tons of opportunities, and there are saves available elsewhere. Even if Ubaldo just has a decent/good year, he will probably provide as much if not more value than Hanrahan. I went ahead and dropped Pierre in the trade, and Torii Hunter I dropped to FA to pick up Tabata. Hopefully I won't regret that later.

I took over with one week to play. I have no clue how the guy managed to do so badly. The pitching may not be incredible, but there's some good guys on there, and the offense is solid. I'm guessing he just wasn't active or something. Not sure. I am definitely looking in to making a couple trades, I think I've got more than 5 offensive keepers, so if I can trade one for a P keeper, I'll do it.
