  • Need to pick two players to have as one-year keepers for this upcoming season.
    Jose Bautista
    Anthony Rizzo
    Anthony Rendon
    Michael Brantley
    Corey Kluber
    Madison Bumgarner
    Sonny Gray

I'm leaning toward Rizzo and Brantley. I like Rendon, but I feel, if Brantley can do what he did again, Brantley would be the better overall choice, though OF is usually deeper. If I chose a pitcher I'm torn between Kluber and Bumgarner. If I went pitcher I might go Kluber. But right now, I'm leaning away from pitching and will look to revamp in the draft.
If anyone can give any helpful feedback/opinions, that would be great. Also, any opinions on if Brantley will do continue hitting and running like he did?
    Anyway, thanks

    Pick two to keep

    by Diz Feb 27, 2015 1:15 PM

It's a contract keeper league, which in short, starting last year, we got to choose 2 3-year keepers, 2 2-year keepers and 2 1-year keepers.
I didn't really do a good job picking to start out with haha, but currently under my control I have Freddie Freeman and Starling Marte, as well as Matt Moore and Jurickson Profar (who I will be releasing).
Sonny Gray was one of my one-year keepers, and I don't remember who the other one was, but I've already let him go. Either way these are the best players I have to choose from from my team last year to give new 1-year contract deals.

    Pick two to keep

So no love for Rizzo on any of your guys' choices? Is that just because first base is deeper?

  • Which closer would you rather have this season?
David Robertson - Chicago White Sox
    or
    Cody Allen - Cleveland Indians

Thanks. Why you picked one over the other is greatly appreciated, as well.

Rizzo. He's going to be in a loaded lineup for years to come.

    bump

  • Team A gets:
    Alex Jackson, Seattle
    Yordano Ventura, Kansas City

    Team B gets:
    Jon Lester

    What do you think?

  • Do I add him?
My middle infield consists of Brian Dozier, Anthony Rendon, Starlin Castro and Howie Kendrick

  • Deep custom head-to-head league.
Pitching categories: W; ERA; WHIP; K/BB; K/9; QS; NSV

Looking to add another starting pitcher. Two of the better ones available are:
    Wie-Yin Chen, Baltimore
    Bartolo Colon, NYM

    Thanks for any input.

    Which SP to add?

Ha thanks. Was leaning that way.
Would you drop Adam Eaton for him? My other outfielders are Starling Marte, J.D. Martinez, Shin Shoo Choo and Dalton Pompey.

Yeah, that's what I have been trying to do. Have had a couple offers rejected, so was just looking over the free agent pool.

    Bryant sent down.

It's been said all along they only have to have him down there for a couple of weeks (12-14 days) for the super 2 status.

  • Team A Gets:
    Victor Martinez
    Carlos Gonzalez
    Brandon Moss
    Jacob DeGrom
    Kyle Hendricks
    6th round pick

    Team B Gets:
    Anthony Rizzo
    Dalton Pompey
    Jake Odorizzi

The league is a contract keeper league. We get two 1-year keepers, two 2-year keepers and two 3-year keepers. Last year was the first year. Team B has Rizzo under control for this year, which means Team B could reup for a 2-year keeper slot at the end of the year if I wanted to. Team A has CarGo and Martinez as a keepers. CarGo's contract will run out after 2016. Martinez would run out after this year.

    P: Chris Tillman

Moore is under my keeper control and will be DL'd once he is put on it. It should also be noted that once the season starts I will be adding Joc Pederson (OF) as he is under my control as a prospect keeper so I'll have to drop one of my other players for him. Also, as you can see, I choose to forgo saves/any relievers, so I am already aware of that.
