I don't care how far out of contention a team may be. All that matters is whether the player is providing exceptional performance and value for my fantasy baseball team. I own both Votto and Goldschmidt. Neither player nor their team(s) will be attending the post season this year. Both are top 40 players at this point in the season.
I don't care whether the other manager improves their team. All I care about is improving my team. Not every trade is a win-win and even if the trade is a win-win all I care about is improving my team.

Did you trade Desmond and Pollock for Votto, Greinke, and Dyson?
Thank idiotic move would have gotten you an invitation to a Dinner for Schmucks.

Mon, Aug 22
Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said Monday that A.J. Pollock (elbow) could be activated from the disabled list by the end of the week.
Advice: Pollock had a minor oblique issue early last week, but he's over it now and is 4-for-8 with two doubles since moving up to the Triple-A level on Saturday. He's batting .433/.541/.733 with two homers over 37 plate appearances during his rehab assignment and is capable of making a big impact in fantasy leagues for the final month of the season.

Do you think Sanchez is going to steal more bases, hit more HR, and hit for a higher average than Dahl?
Really? You are worried about getting rid of a lousy catcher? C'mon man.

So...Strasburg and Harvey...two power pitchers with Tommy John experience are back on the DL with arm problems?
Stop the world...I want to get off.

How is Stanton NOT, better than Bryant? So Bryant hits for a higher batting average, steals more bases, and is eligible at more positions. Big Deal! Has he hit 37 HR TWICE in one season like Stanton? HR helps you in 4 AREAS ALL AT ONCE!

Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill said Sunday that Giancarlo Stanton (groin) plans to return to the Marlins before the end of the regular season.

You say your league is 12 x 12. Without knowing what 24 scoring categories you have the correct answer is "I don't know"...but the most likely answer regardless of your team construction, and league construction is a resounding NO!

Um...Giancarlo Stanton is better than Kris Bryant. Why would I down grade? Position eligibility has NOTHING to do with talent. Stanton is clearly the most talented MLB player. He is on pace for 50 HR this season!!!

Diaz should have been added with your first waiver LAST MONTH.
Catcher is the fantasy baseball wasteland.

With the proliferation of talented shortstops available in 2016...if you don't have your fantasy SS position filled by a MLB all-star at this time then you are doing it wrong.
...was just dropped in my league!
Who should I drop to add him? Joey Votto? I have Paul Goldschmidt to play 1B so I am fine losing Votto.
I can't believe my luck getting Stanton FOR FREE!!!
(I am going to hate losing my #7 waiver priority but Stanton is worth it!)

You already had two players that ONLY play 1B. You do not need to add another one. Your addition of Hosmer was ignorant, idiotic, and superfluous. You need a multi-position eligible bat that can backup as many of your non-1B positions as possible.

The only value that Stanton MIGHT have over Sano is fantasy baseball trade value. Any actual tangible performance value difference is negligible. As such, the greatest difference between the two is position eligibility.

At this rate? Probably not.
But he will see time all over the Astros lineup next season. So far he has already seen time at 3B, 2B, SS, and OF. He may not acquire eligibility at all those positions but he should have 3B and OF and will most likely add one or two more positions during the course of next season.
