Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
TE is a major concern - Reed is a concussion away from never playing again, & Gano isn't a suitable backup.
RB is very much boom/bust here. Either Ellington & Sankey will be awesome, or you'll be in the cellar of your rankings. Depth here is ok, but not great.
I'm a big Stafford fan, as long as you didn't overreach.
WR is very solid, top to bottom.
Hope this helps! If you don't mind, check out my post 'Evaluate my draft'....
Here's a 2nd go, after some of your suggestions:
1. Marshawn Lynch (Sea - RB)
2. Dez Bryant (Dal - WR)
3. Antonio Brown (Pit - WR)
4. Toby Gerhart (Jax - RB)
5. Joique Bell (Det - RB)
6. Jordan Cameron (Cle - TE)
7. Kendall Wright (Ten - WR)
8. Tony Romo (Dal - QB)
9. Mike Wallace (Mia - WR)
10. Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
11. Lamar Miller (Mia - RB)
12. Zach Ertz (Phi - TE)
13. Kelvin Benjamin (Car - WR)
14. Tampa Bay (TB - DEF)
15. Dan Carpenter (Buf - K)
Regarding TE: I grabbed Green because I thought a run on TE's was starting (it didn't) - I like his upside, but worried Gates will still be in the picture too much. Clay was #7 TE last year, & I don't see his usage dropping very much.
I share the concern about Ball. My other option @ that point was Lynch - decided to go with upside this time, but I don't know that I would do that in a real draft.
My strategy was more about picking up the players I specifically wanted, & not worry too much about adp. It's something I'm playing around with to see how comfortable I am with it before the real drafts start. I'm frequently finding that I'm stuck looking at players that I don't have a good gut feeling about in those spots otherwise. As a result, I seem to end up having to grab a few at an earlier adp, because too many of them are grouped close too close to each other at their typical adp. Anyway, it's just something I'm playing around with...
Your thoughts on how much KC's o-line losses will affect Charles' value this year? I know he'll still get plenty of touches, but where will he go with them w/out good blocking?
#4 QB - Stafford: best overall arsenal & the arm to use it.
#7 RB - either M Ball or Foster. Probably lean towards Ball due to team strength/context.
I have the #8 in a 10-team (standard scoring). Here's what I got in a mock draft today - constructive thoughts/advice?
1. Montee Ball (Den - RB) 2. Dez Bryant (Dal - WR)
3. Keenan Allen (SD - WR) 4. Toby Gerhart (Jax - RB)
5. Joique Bell (Det - RB) 6. Kendall Wright (Ten - WR)
7. Tony Romo (Dal - QB) 8. Mike Wallace (Mia - WR)
9. Marvin Jones (Cin - WR) 10. Philip Rivers (SD - QB)
11. Ladarius Green (SD - TE) 12. Danny Woodhead (SD - RB)
13. Charles Clay (Mia - TE) 14. Tampa Bay (TB - DEF)
15. Dan Carpenter (Buf - K)
Only 2 WR's, plus a W/R flex. I took the trade, feeling the "win now" mentality was prudent since McCoy is on bye next week. Forte & Lacy should still be a strong combo. Picked up Ben Tate off waivers, so between him & Ryan Matthews I should be ok @ RB. Now I'mgonna have AJ & Dez for my 1-2 WR's, w/ Amendola, Gordon & Hopkins to fill the flex...
Not thatyour point isn't valid, but to note- Gordon only missed the 1st 2 games, not 4, and I just picked up White off the waiver wire since he seems to be getting healthy. That said, Dez has been pretty disappointing, & I knew Amendola would spend some time out, just didn't expect this much.
Also, I am one of only 3 teams over 1300pts for the season- the other 2 are in 1st & 2nd place. I have the distinction of having the most pts against me in the league, by a comfortable margin... that's why I'm in 8th
10-tm ppr. trade above offered to me. Rest of my roster is RGlll, Dez, J. Gordon, Deandre H, Amendola, Roddy White, Forte, Lacy, Ryan Matthews, Joique, J. Cameron & J. Reed. Byes are nearly done, McCoy's off next week anyway. I'm in 8th place (bad habit of catching teams having breakout performances).
Any thoughts? Thanks.
I wondered about Matthews or Lacy instead - Reed doesn't seem as sure a thing to me yet. IF Gordon does get traded, Cameron's likely to take a hit, because even with the increase in targets, he'll pretty much be the only offensive weapon DEF's need to focus on.
Picked up J Reed off waivers - should I try shopping Cameron tomorrow, so as to be relevant to this week's game? CLE bye is next week, while WAS is already done... I could use some WR help. Full ppr, 2 WR, 1 flex W/R spot. Here's my roster currently;
QB: Vick/ RGlll (about to acquire RGlll in a trade)
WR: Dez/ J Gordon/ R Randle
RB: Forte/ McCoy/ J Bell/ Lacy/ R Matthews
TE: J Cameron/ J Reed
