    by Dan Jun 28, 2014 6:33 PM

I dropped Grandy and picked up Walker. I didn't wanna drop Grandy cuz' he has good power, but I'll just have to make a few trades.

Father time catches up with EVERYONE. Kemp is past his prime. He's no longer elite. He hasn't played a full season in 3 years. He hasn't stole more than 9 bases in 3 years. He hasn't hit .300 in 2 years. He's just not someone you want to keep in a keeper league. In that format, it's all about grabbing young guys with UPSIDE...Kemp has no upside. Look, Kemp was one of my favorite players back in the day, I'm not trying to dog him, but he's just another OF now.

Tulo has an injury history as well. His body is already breaking down. Just because it hasn't happened YET this season, doesn't mean it won't in the second half. In a KEEPER LEAGUE when you are trading two studs, you have to pay attention to little details like that. Tulo is older, has an injury history, and he doesn't steal...that's 3 strikes against him. The only strike against Trout is that he's an OF?...He plays a deep position? That's crazy thinking...I don't care where Trout plays, he's the best player in baseball and if you can land him on your keeper league, you do it...simple as that.

Nobody is saying Tulo isn't a stud...he is. We're saying that in a roto KEEPER league, Trout is more valuable than Tulo. Both are beasts, but Trout is worth more in that scoring format.

Kemp is old and his legs are gone (he doesn't steal anymore), so he's no longer elite. He's basically Carlos Beltran at this stage of his career. Not sure what analysts you follow that still believe in Kemp, but if I was you, I'd find new analysts...lol.

Keeper league, Trout is younger and a 5-tool player (Tulo doesn't steal), so he's actually more valuable. Of course, I'd offer Tulo for Trout straight up to start...but I suspect it won't be enough to get the deal done.

That's a reasonable offer...I don't know if it gets accepted, but it's not an unfair offer.

    NEED OPINIONS!

What are the league rules pertaining to trades? If it's not written in your bylaws, then it really doesn't matter if the league likes it or not, they don't get a vote...a trade is a trade. If you can't prove collusion, then the trade has to stand. If each owner has paid money for his team, then he should get to run it as he sees fit...even if that means running it into the ground via bad trades. It sucks, but unless you change your bylaws, it has to be allowed.

  • 12 team roto....Should I drop Shelby Miller to pick up Taijuan Walker? He's my worst SP (though drafted higher than the rest). Do I wait for a turnaround (his WHIP is KILLING me) or drop him now while I still have time to improve my team WHIP?...Any advice?
