Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
What are your guys' rest-of-season projections for both T. Frazier and J. Upton?
I own both, and they seem to present the same issue. They're very streaky, and they're both playing at extreme levels right now. They just so happen to be playing at opposite extremes.
I'm loving Frazier's hot start, but as a Cincinnati fan, I know that he constantly fluctuates between all-star-like and AAAA-like numbers. And while I'm still (questionably) holding on to hope that Upton will break out of this funk and show that 30+ HR potential, he's doing absolutely nothing through the first quarter of the season.
In lieu of a trade question, I'm just wanting to know you guys' thoughts on both. Time to cut ties with Upton in small leagues? Will Frazier and the rest of the White Sox continue this level of production through the dog days of summer?

I think I agree with you BJD, especially since I've inadvertently punted SBs and AVG. Blackmon, assuming he's able to steal 35 more bags this year, wouldn't make me competitive in the stat, and like you said, that may be a big assumption.
I'm just at the hard part in the roto season where I don't know if my huge deficits in SBs and AVG are due to roster issues that won't be able to be overcome, or if slow starts will eventually be reversed. I have Upton, Abreu, and a handful of other guys all under-producing.

They seem to still be expecting the huge JUpton outburst. It will come, he won't be the 1000th most productive fantasy player all season, but how big do you expect that outburst to be?
I've all but abandoned SBs and AVG in my league by targeting power hitters. So I can afford to keep Upton a little longer than most in hopes he turns on that 30 HR power. But Blackmon does represent an interesting buy-low candidate.
Who do you guys like ROS? Unanimous votes for Blackmon, I assume?
Maeda, Gray, Salazar
I love what Maeda is doing right now, but I can't expect it to continue as the books starts to get written on him. Wins may be hard to come by in Oakland, but I'm leaning towards Gray. Any thoughts?
I really thought he was prepped for a break-out. Or I guess you'd call it a re-break-out. We're only 2 weeks in, so it's obviously a small sample size, but are we seeing the real Upton thus far?
I'm in a small league, and Trumbo is still available. Unfortunately, due to the rules of this league, I'd only be able to roster one of them, Upton or Trumbo. How long do I continue rostering Upton at this level of production before making this swap?
