Kershaw, Harvey & Gomez are probably worth the top 5 guys on the other team. This is an attempt at a screw job. Put Harvey on the trading block and see what offers you get.

You have some quality bats on your bench, which tells me you shorted pitching. Peralta will probably out-produce Braun - I would try to trade some bench bats - Braun Seager, Pillar, Mesoraco. In a 10-team league, some of these might be an upgrade for someone who went pitching-heavy.

I'd keep Cole before I kept Syndergaard. No C (unless more keepers) should be a keeper, IMO. Might keep Thor over Jose, since Jose will have a pretty firm innings cap since they have no chance of going to the playoffs.

Do you need a 3rd closer to put yourself in a better position to win? Giles is real shaky right now, Gregerson maty start at closer. Make your decision from there.

And believe this guys - Limp D is a public league assassin!!!! Never played in a league where people are competitive from top to bottom, but hey - who cares? Where guys haven't drafted and forgot they had a team? Who cares? Where some 9-yr old is getting his feet wet - who cares? Where half the teams are ignoring it by the All-Star break - who cares? Guy is a cold-blooded know-it-all.

I'm with JAH. If he doesn't pan out, can you not cut him lose? You are getting a guy with only half a season that showed enough that he is a 2nd round draft pick, at worst. That is cheap, and keeps your salary cap very manageable.

I actually ended up taking him real late last night in a H2H keeper. If he doesn't work out, gone, but if he does - steal. It is not a strawman argument. It would be like drafting someone based on a few IP in the majors and their MiLB stats. But when I got him in round 24 of 25 - why not?

I got Realmuto in the last round last night. I would have taken him earlier, but everyone else had drafted a C and I knew I could ride it out. I'll take a 15/15 C who won't kill you in BA. And there is no C that will score 90 R, and beside Posey, not many that can go over 15-18 HR.

Anyone carrying a backup is none too bright. Grandal will probably not post much better numbers than 4-5 guys on the waiver wire right now. Only advantage he gives over those guys is if/when he is healthy, he gets more AB's.

Mock drafts are usually done with 2-3 good players, max. I have seen the same thing on the other end, stocking ace pitching and closers, and going for nothing hitting-wise other than SB. It may work one in a while, but you will usually kill yourself when you punt half of the categories in any league. Fantasy suicide.

Let him live and die with one team's pitching and take one of the top 2 or 3 players in MLB. What he may gain in pitching, you more than out-do him in hitting. Anyone that would trade Goldschmidt for a SP is a total tool.
- Chris H Chris H Mar 24, 2016 8:04 PM Flag
No. Kershaw is the best, Hosmer is good, Kipnis is one season from being a very late draft pick. Odor better than Kipnis long-term, Martinez is solid, and Goldschmidt is a top 3 player at any position. Dynasty death trade, simply because the other guy got Kershaw.

Yes, you can do both. If you manage well enough and look ahead, while being willing to take a "loss" in a trade for your long-term interests. You should take a class in not being a KITD (Know-It-All Douche).

If they rush him t be ready by opening day, would bet that he ends up hurt again, in short order. Was dinged in April, August, and missed the end of the season as well. Hurt in November? If he gets hurt again this season, Tribe fans are going to be having Grady Sizemore flashbacks.

Cole - the guy is so young and seems to take a leap each season with experience. You could be looking at a Cy Young in the next year or two.

Mowing down lineups chock full of minor leaguers isn't that impressive, May be worth a late round flier, but that is also not anything approaching a great team he is pitching for.
