Draft and Trade Talk Message Board

Yeah, Team A, but like others have mentioned, that decision is based on not having any other important information.
-
I think I would go with Marte. I feel there is more upside with him. Yes, Hicks has better environment behind him for runs, but Marte has the better power/speed upside.
-
My pitching is stacked and I will trade one (Weaver, Wainwright, Cueto, Sanchez, and Lohse). My 2B and MI are filled by Brandon Philips and Kendrick. Zobrist would go in at SS, where I have, ugh, Segera.
I would drop Segera. -
I think I would probably go with Ryu. Fernandez might be good, but he is a rookie and playing for Marlins.
Gee and Milone are okay, but their situations are not the best.
Maholm is a good pitcher. He probably won't help you too much, but he won't hurt you either. When you get to 5th and 6th starters on your team, a lot of people just look for someone to not hurt them and possibly help their peripherals. He should get wins and his ERA and WHIP shouldn't be terrible.
Having said all of that, I think there is a higher ceiling for Ryu. Thus, upside says Ryu, safe play says Maholm.
Your opinion on my thread (Keeper League Trade) would be appreciated. -
What are your thoughts on this trade. It is a keeper league. I can give more info if people need. I give up McCutchen and Goldschmidt while I get Zobrist, Pujols, and Cliff Lee. I get a lot older, but I feel I get better. Thoughts?

Who should I offer in a trade for Reyes and/or Braun & Craig?
by Joshua Mar 21, 2013 6:58 PMPossibly. I mean you never know what someone else will accept or offer in return, so it is hard to say what will work. You provide a replacement (although a poor one) for Reyes and you provide a good 3B (although an injured one), so it might work. Again, given the injuries of both, I would rather have Reyes, so I would decline the trade offer, but they might not.

by Joshua Mar 21, 2013 6:58 PMI think for the players you are looking at getting, they are going to want Cabrera and something. If you offered me Hamilton (as you noted, injured), Jeter (who will start on the DL and is old) and Headley (who is also out for a bit), for Braun, Reyes and Craig, I would laugh. You have to give up stuff to get stuff. His 3rd Baseman is Freese, so Cabrera would be an upgrade for them. I would see if you could trade Headley and someone for either Reyes or Craig. I think that is the best you can hope for right now.

I have Trout and am being offered the three players.

I understand that, but his ERA and WHIP have been volatile. He has shown that he can have a very low ERA/WHIP but he has also shown his inability to keep those down and work deep into games. He has a strong team to work around and that should help his wins, but his high walk and strikeout rate means he might have issues (as before) working late into games. This can affect Wins. If he can remain consistently good, his ERA and WHIP can remain low, but he seems to have brain farts for a few weeks or a month each year and that seems to inflate his numbers. Look at his past 3 years ERA and WHIP
374/127
443/135
350/125
Certainly good, but not great. Can his numbers drop? Sure, they always can....he has the talent. However, at some point you need to accept that his numbers are what they are and that is what you can expect going forward. -
Risky trade on both ends. What do you have in your outfield currently and at SS?
-
Yeah, McCutchen is for sure and probably Darvish. I am never a fan of keeping closers. Plus, I suspect the leash will be short with Soriano given the presence of Storen and Clippard. As a result, Soriano is a risk (like many closers). Darvish and McCutchen are more sure things.
I would consider Cabrera simply because SS is a weak position and he would be fairly cheap in your league. But, I would probably go with Darvish and McCutchen. -
Depends on what you have at the position(s), how many teams are in the league, what type of league it is (dynasty, keeper, redraft, H2H, Roto), what is on the waiver wire, etc. Need more information.

No reason this should be vetoed. Hence why many of the leagues I run trades are decided by the commish. So long as you have a good commish that is fair, all is good. My feeling is that if there is no collusion or it is not massively lopsided, then it goes through. I think both teams get something in this trade and so it should go through. I hate leagues where everyone just vetoes every trade because they are envious that they did not get the deal done (or something similar). Nothing wrong with this deal, especially if Team B is lacking a good 2B and/or Team A needs SP. I think in both situations, Team A comes out on top, but Scherzer is no lock and Philips is getting up there in age.

I think you have your answer (cancel the trade)

I am currently being offered Sale (or Bumgarner), Samardzija, and Heyward for Trout. This league operates as LF, RF, and CF. Trout is currently my LF and would be replaced by Saunders/Kubel. My current RF is Chris Davis, so Heyward would be an upgrade. My current starting pitchers are only Weaver, Haren, Wilson, and Norris.
What are your thoughts?
