    Usually each team has $100 for the season, but you can change it to whatever you want. It is under commissioner tools under acquisition budgets.

    Giving up 76 points in a trade is nonsense regardless of the position needs. I challenge you to create a dream roster of each of these teams in which this trade is benefitial to the team giving up Calvin Johnson. I agree that roster composition can play a role, but unless the guy giving up CJ has Bryant, Marshall, and Green at WR and only D. Walker at the position this trade is trash. If Mr. T2 would provide the actual rosters I bet you would veto this trade.

    Horrific trade! Unless you are required to play two tight ends. D. Walker has little value. D. Williams is not even a flex play most weeks and everything that I have read indicates that J. Stewart is the back to own there this year. So essentially this trade is C. Johnson for J. Cameron and a kicker. The kicker is good but in a 12 team team league with standard scoring this new manager was bound to end up with at least the 12th best kicker right? I men who is carrying two kickers? In standard leagues Prater was the #2 kicker and outscored the #12 kicker J. Feeley by 30 points. Whereas C. Johnson outscored J. Cameron 320 to 214 in PPR leagues. So this is a 76 point gain on the season by a commissioner who is trade raping a newbie and getting #$%$ off that half the league doesn't think it is fair? Your league has a veto function for a reason and it was used properly. Get a new commissioner. However if your league can not sustain quality ownership than you have other options. This new guy is a knucklehead and he probably shouldn't be in your league if you guys want a serious league. I suggest starting your own league with the 10 managers that you have faith in and if you find 2 guys that you want restart it. If not just move on to a 10 team league. You will have just as much fun. Don't beg this guy to come back or convince him he is wrong. And tell the Newbie to do some #$%$ research! As for question #3 you can't have a no rules league so that a few people can trade rape idiots all season long and make the league garbage. It is a league and a commissioner should first and foremost do what is best for the league. I wouldn't even offer such a trade as if it were accepted my league would give me the stink eye!

    Acquisition dollars are for the FAAB or Free Agent Auction Bucks. So if everyone gets $100 to start the year that is what everyone gets to bid on free agents throughout the season. It is a blind bid process so if you bid $20 on a free agent and the next highest bid is $10 you still pay $20. It is a much better system than waivers with a number priority.

    Playoff Settings - 2 weeks per round

    Simply use the no playoffs format and use commissioner scheduling. Use a a random Yahoo schedule for weeks 1-12 and then in week 13 you set the matchups as you like and just set up a meaningless game with the top 2 teams and explain to the league it doesn't mean anything. Then weeks 13 & 14 would be the semi finals. Just set up games matching them up in back to back weeks and then do this again in weeks 15 & 16. Use a bracket in the topics section and do what you want with it. I like the idea but if you really want the best team to win, why not just set it up for total points? I think the allure of the playoffs is that every team has a punchers chance. Why fight and claw for that last spot in the playoffs if you have to beat a better team twice? Not criticizing just something to think about. If people get discouraged they will leave your league over time.

As far as multiple opponents per week, I don't believe that function is available. Unless you wanted to set up a points only league and create double headers on a bracket page every week under the topics section and another season long standings page as well. This would require a lot of work and would most likely confuse some of your owners! But if you decide to do it, I'd be interested in hearing how it went!

    Commissioner scheduling is found under the commissioner tools tab under the league management category. It is the edit schedules tool. You can edit schedules every week if you want. I just let Yahoo set weeks 1-12 and then I do 13-17. You will have a matchup like usual with this setting where your teams will see their matchups,

  • I am starting a Dynasty League this year and it should run fine this year. Next year we will have an offline rookie draft and I will add players to their prospective rosters. This year we will have a total team size of 28 and next year it will grow to 32 to accommodate adding 4 rookies to each team. My question is, is there a rookie roster setting? I want it to grow to 32 roster positions but 4 of which would have to be on your rookie roster. I don't want to count rookies manually each week by each team to ensure compliance. Any suggestions.

    Not with the combination of no playoffs and commissioner scheduling. Just explain the brackets in the topic station. Also clearly state before the season that the #7 seed is getting bumped if someone below him has more points. Also Yahoo in this setting declares the team with the best record the champ! This may not be the case if they are upset in your personalized playoff bracket. So if virtual trophies are important you will have to edit the scores of the champs regular season losses and give him victories in order to give him the best record. Or just explain in your playoff bracket topics who the real champ is! (That's what I do. Virtual trophies can't be that important!)

    Here is what I do. I set my league up with the no playoff setting and allow Commissioner scheduling. I then accomplish the playoffs by using the topics section to post the bracket. I allow the top 7 to go and the bottom 7 to fight it out for the losers bracket champ. Set up games as you normally would with one exception in week 14 have the #1 seed play the # 8 seed and just explain to everyone that the outcome is irrelevant as it is the BYE for both teams. Then go on creating normal match ups in week 15 and 16 as you normally would for the playoffs.

    I agree with your #1 seed assessment. We also do a few more things with this format. In week 13 we have a last week of the regular season just like the NFL and have a wildcard weekend so to speak. Since only 1 team gets a bye and scheduling can allow a weaker team with an easier schedule to peak in the standings we have 1 play 4 and 2 play 3. They all essentially are battling it out for an opportunity to get a bye. Then we have 7 play 8 for a true win and in scenario. 5 and 6 play each other as this game shouldn't hurt or help anyone. Then in the losers side we have 9 play 12 and 10 play 11 to settle the middle of the losers bracket and then 13 plays 14 for a true toilet bowl. The loser of this game gets the shaft in our league (Which comes with unique punishments!) Regardless of the playoff outcome of the two teams.

    Additionally with this setting you can play all season so as teams are eliminated we offer call out games. Essentially any player can call out any other player and it is a spread match for $10. So even if you are the 10 seed and get knocked out you can call out the #4 seed that just lost and whatever yahoo says the #4 team should win by is what he has to win by to win the game. The fuddy duddies that don't want to play just play each other and I bench their teams since they don't want to play anymore. Hopefully one of these ideas inspires you to a solution you were looking for.

    Well in general I don't care for the division head to head format. Someone gets to play the Jags and Raiders twice and someone has to play the Seahawks and 49ers twice, but I digress. Whatever you want to do with your playoffs is possible using the ( no playoff) format when setting up the league and also set it up for commissioner scheduling. This will allow the commissioner to publish the bracket in the league post and run it manually. The only drawback is that you may not get the correct virtual yahoo trophy. However if this is super important you can always change scores on the winners games until he ends the season with the most wins and then yahoo will give him the 1st place trophy.

    You can manually add points to games if you want to after it is over just go to Commissioner Tools and add points or take away points. Your actions are recorded in the tab but I would publish what you did as when someone adds up the points of the players it wont match the points in the tab if you added any.

    I have my league set up with the Commissioner approved setting but it isn't really. We tried the 4 no vote button that Yahoo offers but once a few people get butt hurt about their trades not going through they veto everyone else s. Plus there is too much anonymity to it. I use the concept that if two people are making a trade it isn't necessarily fair just because they want it. It effects the other ten teams so if those ten teams cant agree it is fair it doesn't pass so I publish a trade, it has to pend for 2 days and 5 NO votes kills it. It has worked well so far.
