  • Need to determine my final of five keepers. WR get 1 point for 10yds and each reception; 6 pts for a touchdown. Should I keep A. Johnson or White?

I agree Mauer since you need a catcher. He'll get lots of at bats.

Not a lot of consensus here, but definitely enough feedback to eliminate Ogando, Nova and Quintana from the discussion. I just need to determine how much value to give to Porcello for the improved Detroit defense.

Scherzer had a phenomenal year last year, and it'll be hard to repeat ... but he is in his contract year, so he has a lot of incentive. Not sure how many teams are in your league, so I'm not sure how large the keeper pool is ... but McCutchen is a keeper regardless. I think Beltre provides at least one more keeper worthy year and he covers you for 3B. I don't like Puig as much as most because I think his attitude (or whatever you want to call it) will catch up. BUT ... I think most people covet him and I think you'll be able to trade him for more than Scherzer. And there will be plenty of pitching available for you to select if it's only a 3-keeper league.

I'm already involved in a couple of drafts for this year and if they are any indication, Gyorko will not be a sleeper. He is going pretty high. I agree with Rendon and, for whatever reason, Profar isn't getting much love even though he'll start this year. I'd also keep my eye on Khris Davis and Kole Cahoun if they are available late. Rotation wise, Porcello should show improvement just because of the added defense in Detroit this year. He's a ground ball pitcher and he'll have Iglesias all year, Fielder gone, Cabrera off third and potentially a faster outfield with Raja Davis. And Porcello is only 25 and has loads of experience. I like him to improve this year.

I think your 5 are the right choice. Assuming you keep Miggy at 3B, you have the #1 3B, the #1 2B, the #1 or #2 SS (depending on who you believe), and a top 5 outfielder. First base is a very deep position and with everyone keeping 5, there will probably be plenty to choose from in the draft. I might take Ellsbury or Gomez over Votto, only because it would seriously enhance your SB category and they both provide other value as well. Your team is very good and you definitely have more than your share of top 50 players. Any chance you could package two players to get McCutchen? I doubt anyone will trade Trout.

  • I'm in a standard 6x6 league and I'm looking to add one more starting pitcher to my roster. The following are currently the best available: Porcello, Ogando, Parker, Straily, Quintana and Nova. My rotation currently includes Verlander, Wainwright, Moore, Medlin, Beachy and Sonny Gray. Who should I select to close out my rotation?
