Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Joe Nathan took over in the 9th vs the Cubs with a 4-0 lead. Just another nights work right?
Single, walk, double, single, hit batter. 4-2. Bases loaded with 2 out Darwin Barney hits a sinking drive to center which is caught 1 inch before hitting the ground - saving a 3 runs from scoring on what would have been a walk off 3 run double.
Apr 16 Aaron Hill (hand) is expected to be out 4-6 weeks.
Advice: Hill was placed on the disabled list Tuesday after an MRI taken Monday evening revealed a small fracture in his left hand. The Diamondbacks activated Didi Gregorius in a corresponding move and will likely start him at shortstop with Cliff Pennington shifting to second. Hill's injury is a massive blow to the Snakes.

True and the Giants were I think last in HRs last year. He's going to have to figure it out OR the Giants are going to have to get another big bat to give him some protection. They've invested a TON of money in him for the next 10 years or whatever.

That's true but I guess you could say that about any player at every position (like maybe why Trout is struggling). Posey is definitely not playing up to his talent at this point.
How many times have you seen a guy sign a fat contract then not be able to produce on the field. I'm not saying that's Posey's problem, but he just doesn't seem to have "it" so far. Posey is batting a lowly .230 with 0HR and 5 RBI. Meanwhile a guy like Joe Mauer is hitting .346 with twice as many hits as Posey has and unknowns like Gattis are world beaters.
I'm sure Posey will snap out of it, but I'm hoping it's sooner than later. He's much better than he has played so far this year.
Apr 16 Red Sox placed RHP Joel Hanrahan on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 14, with a right hamstring strain.
Advice: The Red Sox are confident that Hanrahan's recent struggles are a result of the injury, so they are hoping that two weeks off will get him healthy and back on track. Andrew Bailey will continue to fill in for Hanrahan at closer, despite blowing a save on Monday. He's a must-own in all fantasy formats.
Weird...I just picked up Jim Henderson yesterday and now Hanrahan goes on the DL...lol

What I meant was 500AB. Any 3B with 500AB and only 48 RBI - stinks! lol 3B are supposed to big numbers guys....Lawrie ain't.

Carpenter "has limited fantasy upside"? Really? He has 16 hits, 14 runs in 13 games, 6 RBI and a .314BA. He's obviously not going to score 170 runs but realistically in the Cards offense he should score very close to 100 runs and have over 60 RBI and a BA over .300....how is that "limited fantasy value"? Lawrie has yet to show that he even deserves to be drafted.

In a keeper only a #$%$ makes that trade. Price is healthy and a 20 win stud and Kemp - who knows what you are getting.

Marte is for real. He strikes out a lot, but that's not a bad thing all the time. He's swinging at good pitches early and making solid contact. He could very well be Rookie of the Year!

Yeah but the loss of those extra innings will come into play once you get to the playoffs. Strasburg only pitched 60 iniings after the All-Star break last year and it killed me. I know Harvey isn't hurt or coming off surgery like Stras was, but the Mets have already said they don't want to blow his arm out. He'll pitch somewhere around 170 innings tops. But if you could get a guy like Greinke for the stretch run I 'd rather have Greinke than Harvey unless it's a keeper.

You have got to figure that the Mets are just not that good of a team and Harvey is the key to their future. He will certainly pitch 9 innings in April & May if they are still in it, but no way are they going to risk injury in July if they are 15 games out. His innings will get cut back dramatically as the season goes on. He may not be shut down but they will start pulling him after 5 innings if the Mets are out of it.
