Draft and Trade Talk Message Board

I would need to know the roster size, but a THIRTY team league???
The size of your league alone makes this a competitive offer. Try to get a younger pitcher like Dallas K, or Kluber, and another OF like Joc Pederson or Polanco...but if you get those tweaks you need to do the deal!

Yes. No matter what league you're in, when a pitcher craps the bed, you drop him before you commit the colossal error of putting him in for " a good matchup."
Sucky pitchers don't have good match-ups. Sucky pitchers suck.

you need to accept the trade before the other guy comes to his sense. Altuve is producing in at least 3 categories, and gives you the steals you need. Hosmer is a mystery wrapped in a riddled swaddled in a big cloth diaper smelling more than faintly of...poop. Shields will outpitch Shark. Shark's numbers are not sustainable, not to mention the absolutely HORRIFIC lack of run support for pitchers at Wrigley. Do the trade. You'll than me later.

Reyes is a nice guy in real life, who plays on a surface that will get him injured AGAIN, you mark my words. Verlander...well, as far as I'm concerned, Verlander never fully recovered from off-season surgery. So NO I would not make that deal.

I would hold on to Xander. Zobrist has trade value if you can deal him, but if you had to make a chaoiuce, I take the kid with upside. Zobrist wasn't really proviidng anything I can't replace off waivers.

I see no evidence that Simon is anything other than a flash in the pan. Personally, I'd hold on to Desmond. See if Keuchel (sp) is available, or Chris Archer, or Klubel or Zamir instead.

It's a toss-up. However, Gordon has never maintained this pace over a full season and F-Rod is old as balls. That means that technically, the other guy is selling high. I like Ventura to end the year somewhere in the top 30SPs. I'm sorry I couldn't make a stronger argument, but as you know, there are a lot of unknowns here, but it seems to me that what you really need is just a closer. You should shop around with the rest of the owners to see if you can't get a better deal. Good Luck!
