It's Joey Bats for me. Jones isn't 1st round value if he doesn't steal bases, and things are trending that way. I think he'll be in Bautista range of 4-7SB, so I'd take the power and counting stats of Bautista instead.

So you can be a douche or an idiot, but it's not a good idea to be both.
Bryant played 3 years at University of San Diego and won the Golden Spikes Award as a Junior in 2013. So your argument for those being bad comps was what exactly?
Don't try again, Skippy

Plus Trout was an August call up. If you look at his first 400abs like most are predicting for Bryant this year, he was a monster

So I tried to take your advice, but when I went to Baseball Reference I accidentally typed in Albert Pujols, Ryan Braun, and Evan Longoria- all 3rd basemen who CRUSHED MAJOR LEAGUE pitching in year one and seem like closer comps than Corey Dickerson and Howie Kendrick.
I appreciate the advice, but it feels one-sided.

Worst case scenario is I stand pat until after Opening Day and use the slot cleared to pick up a catcher when Jose Fernandez is officially on the DL

Thanks for the thoughtful analysis. I agree about Lawrie, that's why I decided to drop my only catcher, Rosario, if I do the move. I'm assuming I can move Bryant or Yasmany in a package before draft day and pick up Rosario, d'Arnaud, Grandal, or Montero, all of whom are currently FAs

Freeman for sure, although I think they'll both underperform their 2015 rankings. Don't pay for a career year.
Standard public league where Bryant was just dropped. No chance he'll clear waivers. Should I use my #1 waiver priority this early? I have Chris Davis and Yasmany Tomas currently covering the hot corner. Would probably drop Brett Lawrie

Depends on who would be available with that pick in the 1st. If it's a guy like Michael Brantley or Yasiel Puig I would decline. Brian Dozier or Chris Davis I would accept.

Team has a really good foundation with Kershaw, Miggy, Carlos Gomez, Strasburg, Jordan Zimmerman and a few more. Managers with 65%+ in baseball only. Draft March 18th @ 7pm est. I've included the part of the commish note for reference. Leave me your email for an invite.
Keeper price is determined by the average of two numbers. The price you paid to keep or acquire the player in 2014 and the Y! projected value for 2015(always round up with 0.5). For example, Mizzou deftly acquired Todd Frazier for $3 last year, and he is now valued at $20. So the price for Mizzou to keep him would be (3+20)/2 which equals 11.5 or $12. Easy right? To take it one step further, let's look at a player still keeper eligible after being drafted in 2012. Mike Trout was drafted for $6 in 2012 and had a keeper price of $41 last season, which Positron Colliders wisely chose to pay. In order to be kept now add last season’s keeper price ($41) to this year’s projected value ($52) and divide by 2. (41+52)/2= 46.5 or $47. You can see how a wise investment can pay dividends for years to come, but not at such a discount that it is too difficult for all teams to compete.
