Who to Start Message Board

Well, I don't care what his matchup is two weeks from now. Manning will be back and he'll be dropped.
I was thinking Pryor too, but I was hesitant because he really did nothing passing the ball yesterday. Other than that highlight 93 yard run, he kind of sucked. But, the Philly Def does kind of suck as well. So you guys might be right.
Don't have a backup QB on the roster, seeing as how I'll only need one for week 9 while Manning has a bye.
Who would you pick up from this bunch:
Ben Rothlesiberger (@NE), Case Keenum (vs. Ind) Terrelle Pryor (vs. Phillie), Jason Campbell (@ Bal.) Jake Locker (@ St. Louis)

Sorry, man. Only had one spot left and SY United took it. I'll keep your email around though in case someone else bails. Already had one guy bail on me this weekend, which is why I even needed one more spot to begin with.

Check that. The team manager with the 5th spot has offered to swap with the new team manager. So you could have your choice of the 12th or 5th draft spot.

Actually, I'm not taking Anthony Davis either. Last year I narrowly missed drafting him in the 4th and was glad I did, because he was not even worth a 4th round pick. Its all well and good he's having a great pre-season, but until I see consistent first/second round type numbers from him in the regular season, which I have not yet, then I'm not taking him there. Someone else can have him.

Need one more manager for this league! We had one who bailed. He drew the 12th pick in the draft randomizer, so the new team will get that spot. Email above if you want in. First come first serve.

Wouldn't touch Andrew Bynum with a ten foot pole. Russel Westbrook's price is too high for as much time is he's going to miss, and with the uncernaity if he'll even be as good. Basically any injured players are on my do not draft list. Also old guys. No Ray Allen. Pretty much no one on the Nets except maybe Derron Williams for his assists. But as for the rest of the Nets- Pierce, Garnett, etc. not only are they all past their prime, but there are too many mouths to feed on that team.
Also, I will not be drafting Marc Gasol or Serge Ibaka, because they'll be long gone before I'd be willing to draft them. To me those guys are 4th or 5th round picks. What the hub bub is about with them I will never figure out.

Oh, and I should mention that before a manager bailed, we did draft randomizer. The departing manager landed the 12th/13th picks. That will be the slot for the new manager. So if that's not your thing, this is not your league. Just FYI.

Need one more manager. League ID won't work. Yahoo keeps deleting my message every time I try to leave my email address in any form. Just post a reply and we'll get you in.

That looks like a great team, except for Jason Thompson, but he won't be a big deal to drop once the good free agents start to emerge. How the hell did you get Lebron and Al Jefferson both? I assume you would have had to been drafting 1st or 2nd to get Lebron, but then you wouldn't get to draft again to the end of the 2nd round. I've never seen AlJeff drop that far! Nice score.

Sorry man, you may have just missed the cut. Found one guy in a mock draft who wanted to join, and then tcoom above. That's the two I needed. I'll keep your email address around in case one of them fall through.

Marc Gasol. I really don't get his first round rankings. Why would I draft a Center who averages under 8 boards a game in the first round? He's a third or fourth round pick at the earliest, as far as I can tell. And there are probably at least 8 or 9 big men I'd take ahead of him.
Also, Anthony Davis. People who draft him in the late first/early second are drafting on anticipation, not on anything he's actually produced in the NBA. Way too risky for my tastes. I'll let someone else have him.
We're looking for two new active managers to fill a 12 team league. Thus far, we have 9 returning managers (all proven and active) and 1 new manager with a good history of competing.
15 man rosters include one extra starting utility and one extra bench above the norm; standard 9 cats; 8 team playoff weeks 21-23, 2 move limit per week, unlimited trades until the deadline
$25 buy-in to be paid either by paypal, or if you prefer, by sending me a check. The $25 buy-in yields= $150 for champ, $75 for runner up, $50 for regular season champ, $25 for regular season second place
Would love to get two new teams in ASAP so I can run the team names through draft randomizer and we can all begin mocking at our draft positions. The draft is on Monday Oct 21 at 7PM Pacific, 10 Eastern
League ID 39205, no password. Just join, and I'll be contacting you shortly after.

I don't see where the rebounds are going to come from. I personally do not understand Marc Gasol in the first round though I know I seem to be in the minority on that for some reason. But drafting a center that averages 7 boards a game in the first round? I don't get it. Randolph is the only solid source of boards I see on your whole roster. Bynum if he's healthy, but that is a pretty big IF. You sure won't get much from Gortat that's for sure. I do like your back court. I do like your back court. You should be good in 3s. And if Bynum does stay away, you'll be killing it at the FT line. But no rebounds, or blocks for that matter. I think it would be tough to win with this team as is. I'd maybe try to trade some of your guard depth for more boards. Or trade Gasol for a center who averages double digit boards and still scores a lot of points.

If you proposed that trade to me I would hit the "Accept" button immediately and laugh. Ray Allen is not consistent enough in his old age to even warrant owning. And Kaman couldn't even win the starting job in Dallas over Elton Brand and Brandan Wright last year. Beal has nothing but upside and has a way higher ceiling than either of those guys if he stays healthy. I would rescind that trade now if it's not too late.

Actually, you look like you have a pretty solid all around team, and you should be pretty competetive. I wouldn't say anything about Marion, Dalembert or Jackson, because once the 12th round comes you're probably just drafting place holders until the hot free agents emerge. But if one of those guys does do surprisingly well for you, then it's a bonus. I like this team.
