I'd like to blame Yahoo for this one.....but the Mets have not officially put him on the DL so its their fault for the delay.

All free agents are on the waiver wire until after Apr 2. If you want a player you have to make a waiver claim but you still won't get him until Ap3 roster. After that they all become F/A.

...and I'll bet they ARE done "automatically". It' just not in real-time, and can get delayed by Yahoo's incompetence. By the way.....the calculations I was talking about are things a reasonably INTELLIGENT person COULD do with what stattracker provides, over what the "match-up" page provides.
I don't know who you or "lenny m" thought you were responding to. It DAMN SURE wasn't me.

I know you have a legitimate beef with Yahoo about the new design, but if you're desperate for your player stats, just open stattracker.
The match-up stats are complete in stattracker and they update 'on the fly' there too, and in fact are MORE complete and detailed than what they give you on the static match-up page anyway. At least you can see accumualated innings pitched and total AB's.
With what stattracker gives you, you can even calculate how many baserunners your pitchers have allowed (for WHIP) and total number of ER..... with those calcs in hand you can project what an upcoming pitcher needs to give you in order to win a category, or whether it's worth throwing a pitcher or not.....same goes for hitter stats like BA.

More fun with numbers. Just to show ya what I said in the other post. Last week my pitchers had 0.86 ERA, 0.79 WHIP going into Sunday with 76 innings pitched.
This week, They're struggling to get under 6.00 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. But wait, my H2H opponent is OVER 10.00 ERA and 2.35 WHIP.
Every roll of the dice is a new spin, with endless combinations and possibilities!

Like magic, 2 days ago, suddenly the "old look" was back.......
It lasted for 1-1/2 days.......Now the "new look" has returned as of last evening.
I know people who NEVER even got the new look at all........and others who didn't get the old look back like I did.
Please explain. How is this even possible??
- AUricle AUricle Sep 7, 2013 4:31 PM Flag
Yeah, I've heard from others who said the same thing, John. In fact I know someone who never got the "new" look at all. I sure as hell have no idea how or why such discrepancies can occur.
Clicked on a player and the "old" look was baaaaaaaack!
It only took 10,000 baseball and footballers to tell them on the sport 'suggestions' and comments forum, but we did it! Hopefully if they're still hell bent on putting out a new look, they'll get it right BEFORE they roll it out to us! Thank You Yahoo!

Hmmm....tough call. Both opponents are high strike out teams. Feldman has history vs. White Sox and averages about 6K/9inn against them over 66 innings (40K). That's assuming a 'complete' game though...and he really has just 9 starts against the Sox Also 6 relief appearances. Just based on THIS YEAR he's had 2 starts vs Sox and in 12 inn has put up 13K's so that's a better K rate...9.1/9inn.
I like the choice.
Roark is an interesting #$%$ shoot, but that's what it is.....a #$%$ shoot. How high is your tolerance for risk? If your a gambler, go for it. But I'd put my money on Feldman.

Found the 'Game Log' link. My bad.
It used to be right next to the "Last 10".....logically, but my fault for not seeing the new link right up top. Thanks for the heads up. "That's one small step for (a) man........"

Thanks for your ongoing communication.
I understand your position, and I'm not asking YOU personally to be the 'frontline' customer response monitor.
But speaking more generally, especially when a 'new' roll-out occurs, there should be a TEAM of monitors, collecting feedback for awhile, until the 'bugs' get worked out.
Would that not 'smooth' the acceptance process without risking losing a lot of customers in the process?? ( I know that's not really for you to answer, but you might earn some nods by suggesting it to the right people)
People get "ugly" and vent, because the changes come upon them unannounced, and they feel they have no CHOICE in the process. This really IS avoidable, if you care about your customers.
OK. Enough evangelizing by me. Here is more "meat and potatoes". In the old format, in a player profile, when you viewed the "last 10" you then had a clickable link to view ALL games/at bats or pitching performances for the entire season "to date". This is another thing missing from the new format, and it's an important adjunct, to short term data, when trying to assess a player.
That's it for now. Thanks again for keeping an open ear.

Thank You. I agree 100% that "you suck" does nothing to illuminate the problem, but folks just have to vent, ya know?
I assumed by your response that you were serious, and by exposing yourself as an "insider", you were just the person we need to hear our concerns.
Detailing them to you was a 'natural' response. Knowing there is an open line of communication is a great relief, and I hope, help.
Mike, I gotta say this. IF you really want to know the extent of the problems with the new rollout, why not put out a post to ALL message boards, identifying yourself as a Yahoo 'person', and making it known that you are posting so that people can voice their specific problems to you, for referral to the developers?
Would that not be a proactive way to get in front of any potential problems? Instead of just a 'reaction response' once you guys realized that the horses were out of the corral?

I'm not "anti-progress", and I realize that often, 'new' is automatically panned by many just because it is different. That is NOT the case here. Not only are stats harder to read because of the transparent page against a photo background, but the data is LESS FUNCTIONAL.
I'm a Baseball person, not a footballer, and there are MULTIPLE problems on the 'player profile' page that opens when you click on a players name.
First of all, the 'line' data for pitchers is missing their WHIP. And for hitters, the Stolen Bases is missing. These are both DEFAULT stats in the most used 5x5 scoring format.
Second..... In the old format, when you looked up a pitcher, it showed you his next probable start date and who it was versus. THIS is also MISSING from the 'new' look.
Also,........ and this is inexcusable, when you look at,..... say a pitchers last performance against an opponent, the stats are DIFFERENT from the stats reported in that pitchers "last 10" performances, if one of them happened to be against the same team as reported in the "last performance vs that team".
Others have noted and detailed MANY other functionality issues in Baseball and other Yahoo fantasy sports.
I can understand a new 'look'. What I DON'T get, is why you would remove FUNCTION from the FORM. It's lazy, shoddy work at the best, and somebody needs a kick in the A|S|S| for it!
- AUricle by AUricle Aug 30, 2013 12:55 PM Flag
Example,....If you look at a pitcher profile, and look at hi 'last outing' vs. 'X' team you'll see line stats, but hen if you scroll down to "last 10 games", and that LAST appearance happens to be there, the line stats are completely DIFFERENT!
How in the HELL are you supposed to make decisions when you can't even trust the numbers???? And where the HELL is WHIP in pitcher profiles???....or Stolen Bases in hitter profiles???
People need to LOSE JOBS over these "improvements". This stuff is as FUNCTIONAL as a two-legged race horse!

Since you appear to be quoting Yahoo, can you point to just WHERE they are saying that? Cuz if that's their attitude, You can bet your sweet bippy this'll be my LAST season playing any Yahoo games. What arrogance!
- AUricle AUricle Aug 30, 2013 12:29 PM Flag
Yes, "Suggestions". Go to SPORTS specifically. You can put up a new suggestion or vote up an already posted one. When it gets enough votes or comments it gets tagged "gathering feedback". The top vote getters WILL be seen by the developers. You can give an idea up to 3 votes. If your specific gripe is already posted, vote it up and comment too. If you've spotted something 'new' to report, post it up as a suggestion and give yourself the votes.... then hope others vote it up too.
It's still a #$%$"D up messy way to do business, but short of CALLING directly, it's the only way we have to communicate with these pea-brains!
Heads-up people! Yahoo DOES NOT read these messages. EVER.
If we have ANY chance to get this changed BACK to the more functional, better looking, "old" format, you have to contact Yahoo Customer Support, and let them have it! DON'T waste your breath here. We ALL agree with you already!

Not only that, the profile doesn't give you batter vs. pitcher history for year/career anymore. It's LESS functional, and the white letters on a transparent page would be OK.....IF the background was UNIFORM dark color......but NOOOO, they put in a distracting photo backdrop
