it's a toss up, it is a risky start with such a hot pens team, but pekka usually bounces back after a bad performance(which he had last game).i like to take his average and start him every chance i get.
i'm in 2 yahoo standard pro 12 team h2h leagues, one of which i am the 2 seed and enjoying the by week. the other i missed the playoffs. just want some input on the issue of dropping players once your team is eliminated? i like the idea of shaking things up a little bit, but dont wanna be an arshole. i've been in leagues in the past where everyone drops anyone who isnt on the no cut list. makes for an interesting run but can be very frustrating.
fun topic, looking for insight and opinions from both possible viewpoints. thanks

start crosby, no question he'll produce while in the line up. who knows how long that may be, but you might as well roll him. you've held him on your roster for this long...now that is tickety boo

i was dive bombing straight out of the playoffs about 6-8 weeks ago. i made a trade: my malkin for luongo. i've made other moves since then, but at this point i'm on the bubble of making the playoffs. just a few more wins to make up and i'm in!! my point is, goalies carry a greater worth than any F/D in most cases.
will datsyuk really be back by mid march???
shoud i offer t. hall for him? or would i just be giving hall away?
*i have a high playoff seed, and will get a bye week 1.

trade 1: give, v. prospal
get, d. backes
*trade took place 3rd or 4th week of the season when prospal was clipping along at a pretty good pace.
trade 2: give, p.rinne, d. buff, s. gonchar
get, m.kiprusoff and s.stamkos
*i came out ahead on this trade too, but goalies are truly a make or break for any fantasy team, so this one made a bit more sense.
trade 3: give, c, price and n. krownwall
get, a. neimi and kovy
trade 4: give, s. downie
get, t. selanne
i feel trades are all about timing. if done right you can give your team a true edge.

i think you're on to something with purcell, he's a great spot start right now. no matter who you drop i like the idea of having a spot or 2 on your roster for that hot start. no need to wait for a proven players to produce, take the points that are out there right now. i would drop duchene, but keep an eye on him.
some other nice pickups

i don't think i would drop any of those players for duchene. moulson is near a point a game this year. clowe offers something across the board and kane shoots the puck a lot of puts together nice scoring streaks....the same type that duchene will once (if) he gets things going. keep an eye on him but wait til he does something before you drop a valued player.
kronwall and c. price
kovalchuk and niemi
standard head to head yahoo 1 year league.
*i need more fire power...i'm in 7th place and trying to make up about 8 points for final playoff spot.

both players are slumping bit time, so it's kind of a wash at this point. i guess i like vanek cause he's a lw and there are a lot more centers that produce. if it helps someone in one of my league just dropped richards.
i have zetterberg on my team and last week yahoo missed on of his assists. i ended up losing the assist cat. by 1, i've heard the stat will be corrected. if so will this be reflected in the matchup totals from last week?
