Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I really need an upgrade at QB, and Andy Dalton has looked very good so far. I've started the season with a 1-3 record and pretty much need to win every week now. Thus, I can't be patient and wait for Dez to come back.
If I trade him for Dalton, is that selling too low? Or good value for a guy who could still be out of several weeks?
Tannehill hasn't been that great for me this year. I'm not saying that I'd replace him, but I'm at least looking to pick up someone who has the potential to start over him on certain weeks.
I drafted Dez, and my team is now 0-3 and in danger of being eliminated from playoff contention with another loss or two.
He's not due back for awhile, and I can't afford to be patient. I've been offered Dion Lewis for him, and while I really don't trust New England RBs and realize I'm selling very low, this may need to be a desperation move.
I felt really good about my team after this year's draft, but so far, it has been a complete disappointment. I'm 0-3, and I've scored nearly 200 less points than the owner in first place.
Here's my roster:
QB - Ryan Tannehill
QB - Sam Bradford
RB - Jeremy Hill
RB - Lamar Miller
RB - Ameer Abdullah
RB - Matt Jones
RB - Ronnie Hillman
RB - Duke Johnson
WR - Dez Bryant
WR - Mike Evans
WR - Allen Robinson
WR - John Brown
WR - Travis Benjamin
WR - Rishard Matthews
WR - Marvin Jones
TE - Travis Kelce
TE - Tyler Eifert
K - Matt Prater
DEF - Dolphins
DEF - Browns
You can tell that I've been able to pick up a few hot hands off of waivers, but right now, it's really tough to improve. No one wants to trade with me because they'd be buying low on nearly every player.
I've thought about packaging a few guys together in a trade, but at this point, I don't even know which position needs improved the most, probably RB?
I just mentioned that because Benjamin seemed to be building a rapport with Manziel. He was his favorite target. McCown might not feel the need to feed him the ball as much.
Now that McCown is the starting QB in Cleveland again, I'm thinking that I could drop Benjamin and add two of these guys.
Matthews is appealing because I own Tannehill, and I like the idea of having two players connect to score points for my fantasy team (though I know others aren't a fan of this strategy).
It is a good point that Baldwin is the only name mentioned that is the #1 receiving option on his team.
We start three WRs in my league and can also start one at FLEX. Unfortunately, I drafted Dez and Mike Evans as my top two WRs, and I also have Allen Robinson, John Brown and Travis Benjamin. So, I'm looking to add some depth since my top option is out for awhile, and my second guy is slowly coming back from an injury.
Please rank these WRs in the priority that you think they should be added as a fifth WR on a fantasy team...
- Marvin Jones
- Doug Baldwin
- Tyler Lockett
- Dorial Green-Beckham
- Rishard Matthews
- Leonard Hankerson
If I was going to take a flier on one of these young QBs to add some depth to my staff behind Tannehill and the underperforming Bradford, who do you think might put it together and have the best season?
I've seen some analysts say the he's a "must own" in a 10-team league or bigger with "breakout" potential while others are calling his early success a "fluke" and say he can "safely continue to be ignored."
What are your thoughts on adding him as a WR5 in a 10-team, non-keeper league that counts return TDs but not yards? I drafted Dez and Mike Evans as my top two WRs and could use some depth at the position.
I own Kelce and Eifert already in my league and picked up ASJ last week just because he has breakout potential and thought I could use him as a trade chip.
The guy in my league who owns Julius Thomas and Josh Hill is looking for a TE. If I can get Brandon Coleman for ASJ, should I do that deal?
So you guys think that DGB is the worst of the four options?
I'm guessing that you are basing that on his QB and not his skill level. I've never seen him play, but I've heard great things.
