I'd do the second trade. Eddie Lacy is a bona fide #1 in my book. If Foster returns to form, you'll have two solid #1s and that could carry you most of the season.
Let's see if I can get any insightful information here..
14 team h2h Dynasty league. In it's 3rd year. Standard cats plus OBP, k/9 instead of Ks, holds and QS.
I trade Addison Russell and Matt Moore
I receive Alex Rios, Brian Dozier, Henderson Alvarez, Anibal Sanchez and first round pick in rookie draft next year.
DL-Troy Tulowitzki, Jurickson Profar
Bench- Addison Russell
SP- Stephen Strasburg, Johnny Cueto, Julio Teheran, Jered Weaver, Francisco Liriano, Archie Bradley, Matt Moore(DL)
RP- Craig Kimbrel, Rafael Soriano, Kevin Jepsen, Jake Petricka, David Carpenter, AJ Ramos
MiLB(5 man rosters per team)
Raul Mondesi Jr.
I think there is a certain 'fascination' that comes with taking two big names like Calvin Johnson and Demaryius Thomas with your first two picks and yeah I'm sure anyone would love to have them both. But the fact of the matter here is that the drop off between tier 1 and 2 of RBs is much more significant than that of receivers in terms of fantasy production. I would also say that the first tier of WRs is larger than RBs.

Vincent Jackson in 2013 (and most every season for that matter): 4 games of 100+ yards, 12 games under 100 including 5 games under 50. In short a WR1 for 25%, a WR5 for 29% and between WR2-WR4 for 41%. You may want a redefinition of "Mr. Consistency." You're welcome!
's a 12 team keeper league. Yahoo standard stats except that we are adding PPR this year. Roster = QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, TE, W/T, W/R, K, D, and 6 bench spots. Keep 2 keepers this year, but going forward we will keep 4 with the keepers costing us a draft pick based on where they were drafted the previous year (example: Toby Gerhert drafted in the 5th, then he's a 5th round keeper).
Team available has from last year: Stafford, D. Bryant, M. Wallace, MJD, T. Richardson, P. Harvin, D. Pitta so you should be able to pick two keepers quite easily. And the team has 4th pick overall in the draft.
The draft last year was offline via the message board, since most of the league are from different parts of the country and a single draft time couldn't work, so I'd expect the same for this year. We will begin the draft soon after you join and tell me your two keepers.
If interested, let me know.
Interesting Rotoworld article this morning on the relative scoring levels of WRs and RBs in different formats. Check it out.
I only play PPR. In that scoring format last season nearly twice as many WRs averaged 17 points per game as RBs. It's an isolated stat but it suggests, when coupled with the higher statistical likelihood of repeatability of WR production as compared to RB production, that elite WRs should be your first target in drafts, particularly if you draw a late draft position. Food for thought...
things change in our lives over months so that may be a reason he wants to change. but change and then someone else won't be able to make it and the list goes on in the headache dept. i tell (and do this myself) managers if they can't be at a draft to prerank their players. keep the date the same. gl! and oh...the commish check's in the mail.
I just inherited this team in a league with 10 teams and .8 points per reception and .2 points per rush. I need to keep two players and I also pick second in the draft. The keepers just count as your first two picks.
These are the only players even worth keeping.
I figure I have to keep Gio otherwise my starting RBs will probably blow if everyone else keeps their RB1s. Am I wrong here?
Julio and AJ Green would be sweet to have right off the bat though.
Thanks for the help
Commish gone amuck...has four of the 20 teams and has kicked two of us out for objected and is now using ours. He is also sending emails with foul language taunting every one else in the league. He needs to be banished for life!
Nik...I'm open to what you're saying, but last season the scoring differential between the 1st ranked WR and the 12th was so minimal that I can't see how going with the elite WRs early is that beneficial. It certainly wouldn't have last season.
I totally agree, Nik. I try to have at least one tier 1 player at each position...and that goes a long way toward the kind of balance you're speaking of. Last season, I had Brees, Megatron, McCoy, and Graham and won the league going away.
