Who to Start Message Board
Standard roto, 12 teams, keeper. My OF is Betts, Pence, Bradley, I also have Dyson at util and Harrison as a jackknife. Is Gomez worth the risk? If so, who to drop? Brach, Doolittle,Glasgow, Messaroco? I'm leaning towards yes and Doolittle. Mesaroco seems like the obvious one, but I've been going with 2 catchers and intend to give him a few more weeks hoping he turns out to be a diamond in the very deep rough. I know Gomez is a popular player to hate on and find faults with, but this is till high round talent here. Thanks in advance.
Posada was a legitimate player at his position who deserves his right to be sought after in a trade, just as Perez does (I will not include Hammel in that list, although he can garner some trade interest at a lower level if you are willing to take an extreme risk) Lol. However, we are talking about a tier 2 pitcher (tier one containing only Kershaw), and Team one now having essentially picked both Cargo and Bum in round 3.
He is a random player we found on the Commissioner Corner message boards, but I do not want him to be kicked from the league, because he seems like a nice guy and fantasy is for fun. I do enjoy debate and that is part of the reason why I am being outspoken on this subject, also it just adds to the fun of the league (for me at least). I also came here to restore some confidence in my ability to gauge trades, mostly because its Bum and Team 1 now basically picked both Cargo and Bum in round 3. Lol
I like the in depth response. I would reply with, given Hammel's career statistics isn't it safe to assume that given the level of play in the NL this year he will not be able to maintain potentially even the pace of his first 1+ years with CHC? I just am unable to get passed the overall valuation of Bumgarner in this trade. Once you step down from the perch that Kershaw maintains by himself, Bum is right there with the rest of the league.
Is the guy who took over the team a random person you don't know? If so, I'd actually consider overturning the trade and kicking him out of the league and finding someone new.
When it comes to vetoes, you have to let owners in your league manage their own team / make their own decisions. Vetoing insults their intelligence and basically says you know better about running their team than they do. BUT, you and your leaguemates have to decide who you want in your league, and someone who makes that trade probably isn't someone you want in your league. That type of trade can compromise the entire league.
If it's not a rando, then I think you have to let it go through and just give your friend a hard time about it.
Its not fair at all..its a terrible trade. But vetoing is for collusion not for just bad trades that stupid managers make, dont veto trades just because they are bad and you dont agree with it. Unless you can prove they are cheating in some way you cant veto this trade.
You should just offer him some bs trade for trout that he probably accepts and walk away happy
You are overreacting and I'm sure your crystal ball doesn't work. Let managers manage their own teams. A bunch of managers vetoed a trade that would have brought me Posada once because they thought I was being fleeced. Posada hit like .336 that year.
This will be our second year with a dynasty league using Yahoo, so I am not sure how Yahoo will handle this draft scenario.
Coaches can keep as many players from their current roster as they choose. Some coaches will drop 4 players, some are going to drop 2, some just 1, and some will not drop anyone and not participate in the draft.
With this scenario, when I finalize the teams and set the draft for live online and the draft order, will Yahoo simply skip those teams with no picks to make in the round for open roster slots?

I respect your opinion, but how is Bum for Perez a fair trade? Especially given the rotation which Team 1 is now in possession of...If you are wondering why I am leaving Hammel out of this equation, it is due to the fact that he cannot maintain the current pace for much longer given that his entire career (except when looking at his two OK years in CHC, which is utter charity) is complete, shall I say comparable to sub-prime CDOs traded during the final months leading up to the 2008 financial crisis, or better yet Lehman Brothers stock. Lol
