Fantasy baseball catchers are like fantasy baseball closers...they are all pretty much the same.
The biggest value that a fantasy baseball catcher can have is multi-position eligibility so that (if you have two catchers) you can slot him in another spot to accumulate stats when another player has the day off.
We are in need of finding a few Owners for our auction league that can take over and existing baseball team for the current year and prepare for the auctions in the NFL and NBA leagues.
The baseball league will be a challenge this year because the current Owners are not active and therefore failed to pick up any replacement players or prospects. This will have to be done through trades and/or FA auctions. Fortunately most of the Owners only gave out one year contracts to the majority of their players so a 1 year turn-around is very plausible.
Since this is the first year, we haven't run the NFL or NBA auctions yet so you would be getting in on the ground floor there and building your own rosters. The lack of additional baseball players does have a plus though, you will have more funds available for the other auctions.
If interested in learning more about our league contact jrs_fantasy. It is a yahoo account.
You can easily find how many adds you have made for the season on your league homepage in the standings section at the far right under "Moves". This is up to date. Also, if you click on "Managers" it will give you the same reading.
When you get within 5 adds of your season limit of 50, Yahoo will place a notification at the top left of your team page.
I have a standing offer for the following deal:
I give: Dozier/Shields
I get: Altuve/Wacha
I'm torn because my pitching is my weakest point (hitting is unstopable so far), since Shields is my 3rd, even 4th starter. Should I take this deal? Is it a no-brainer? Is Wacha's injury history a problem? Any and all help is appreciated!
My team is as follows (before the deal...H2H 10 teams):
Norris (Yan Gomes DL)
it's not too stunning... when there are better players in front of you, you don't get playing time. pretty basic.
