General Message Board
So I'm new to this, what is NA status? Does it work the same as DL? Some this thread it would appear that suspended players that are NA must either be released or take up a roster sport, correct? Unlike a DL, which the team retains rights to the player and can also add another player to their roster. Is this league specific or Yahoo scoring across all leagues?
This league started in 2001 right here on these Yahoo message boards. We have 7/12 original managers. Keep 14 players,21 player rosters, 7x7 H2H format, free league. R,H,HR,RBI,SB,BB,AVG W,SV,K,BB,HLD,ERA,WHIP. Looking for a committed manager that is looking for a challenge. The team you will be taking over needs a lot of work but with the right mind in control they can have it turned around shortly.
We are a very fun, active group. Even though I play daily and other cash leagues, I still check this league first all the time because this league started my addiction to fantasy sports. Join our league now!

If you take this team over, you will have 2 additions to make.
Very very strong hitters, like Matt A said you should look for a guy who can gets SBs. If you dont youll be alright as Manny Yelich Span and Brantley will get a decent amount. Trade a few of your bench bats out for some SPs and hope Darvish comes back strong!
I like your starting pitching and position players, you should be all set there, except maybe a first baseman to back up encarnacion when he gets injured or until he comes back from injury. Otherwise your outfield and relief pitching is pretty weak. The draft has so much strength in the outfield and you need to get a fourth through sixth round pick in it. I suggest trading lindor and dickerson for someone like ryan braun, carlos gonzalez, lorenzo cain, or even upton or cespedis if you can can grab em
The thoughts of what a #2 hitter should be have changed. The ideal #2 hitter is no longer thought to be a good contact/speed batsman with little or no power.
Consider these projected #2 hitters this season:
- Adam Jones BAL
- Dustin Pedroia BOS
- Josh Donaldson TOR
- Justin Upton DET
- George Springer HOU
- Marcell Ozuna MIA
- David Wright NYM
- Andrew McCutchen PIT
- A. J. Pollock ARI
- Will Myers SDP
There are three MLB MVPs that are projected to bat 2nd this season. Yes, several teams still have weak contact hitters batting 2nd (ATL, PHI, CHC, CIN, SFG, MIN, LAA, OAK, SEA) but you can see that a large portion of the league has shifted their perception of a #2 hitter.
I am really hoping Darvish comes back strong
I love my 1-2-3 punch with him
I need some bench at bats with brantley hurt right now (pillar and span both get a good amount of steals and trumbo might get 30 homers)
take the 3 for 2
keep ur second blackmond will out hit braun Colorado over Milwaukee
I like franco but if he gets hot they wont pitch to him only threat for phils
and severino and matz should be a wash
who white from mma never heard of white ist base for Houston will be singleton
who else do u have as pitchers ur getting 2 pitchers that have been hurt more then twice with franco I would try and trade franco instead of Arenado Colorado has a little better line up
i have no idea
this guy was telling me white will be the astros starting 1b
nice I would keep them but I would try and trade a pitcher for a catcher as backup for Schwarber also u should get rid of Glasnow in the minors and snell
Well...I assume you mean TYLER White.
Tyler White is a minor league career .311 hitter in 294 minor league games. In those games he has walked more than he struck out (174 to 164) so he has amazing plate discipline to go with his plus power. He won't steal you any bases so he won't generate more fantasy value than Goldschmidt or Votto...but he should generate similar value to Trumbo though he will probably have fewer HR than Trumbo but he should also have a greater batting average. With consistent playing time I would venture to say that he would also garner more runs and RBIs than Trumbo.
That being said...I would prefer White over Trumbo too. I mean...I would at least consider having White on a fantasy baseball roster. I can't say the same thing for Trumbo.
