Has anyone else noticed that Yahoo's can't cut list has been eliminated. I know for re-draft leagues it doesn't matter, but for a keeper/dynasty league, it seems like something I would want to keep. Is there a way to do that?
Yes they often do. Its not because they don't want a lefty closer its because they don't want to lose their lefty setup guy who is strategically utilized against left handed hitters.
I've one countless hockey and football fantasy leagues but I though I'd try my first baseball one this year. Here is my first team auto-draft team and I would love some feedback. I know that my pitching is strong with 2 top starters but I need to get a closer. Can you tell me what position you think I need to improve and which players I could upgrade from.
Thank you very much

Honestly, I'm perplexed by your ignorance on this subject. Are you from Australia, and new to baseball perhaps? No one who is from America (or Canada for that matter), and watches baseball, has not heard of this. It is akin to a football fan being unaware that teams have traditionally had a prejudice against short quarterbacks....
So your post reads like: "You're trying to tell me that a coach needs a QB, has one QB that can do the job, but he is 5'8", but he isn't going to use him as a QB because he's QB? What coach?"
Blackmon. He's batting 2nd in a good lineup AND he is a 5CAT producer. If I thought Gardner was going to return to stealing 40+ bases it'd be Gardner - but he's not that guy anymore.
coby yes I remember when yahoo asked if you wanted to renew league last season. the problem with that option is it was sent to all managers in the leagues!! ouch! maybe it was just a beta test. I claimed my leagues fast so no one else could click renew league. we'll see how this pans out.
Do you really need 2 catchers? Drop one for another SP. Or, if you can't trade one of your catchers wait a while and see who performs then be prepared to drop one of them for another Closer. Mujica is only a temporary Closer until Koji comes back. Also I like Cron at 1B over Adams. You lack SB talent as well.
I would say hold off on using the waiver. Storen & Britton are locked in and you want 3 solid Closers for sure. Casilla is the Closer but if he falters Romo would quickly take his job. So right now you have 3 Closers for sure. Box is just a temp Closer until Jake comes back. It's likely that it'll take at least the first month before either of those scenarios comes into play (Romo or Jake). You can also be very sure that some other Closer will get hurt or lose his job for poor performance and you can grab him...that's exactly how I got Britton last season and he went on to get me 35 SV. I would rather have that #2 Waiver available later rather than use it now at a position you are not really in need of.
Do not do this trade! Run far away. Wainwright is almost done and Brantley is a top 50 player at worst and isn't even 30 yet. This is a dynasty league. A fair offer would be Gordon or Melky Cabrera for Wainwright, anything else and you are getting bent over.
Do not trust yahoo rankings, they are way off. Go to ESPN and use theirs if you are trying to base your trade logic off of rankings.

Not big on Lester this year, think he is WAY overrated. I would take Desmond for Lester in a heart beat...especially if there is anything on the free agent list that I thought could produce 10-12 wins, 140 SO and a sub 3.80 era...not sure how deep your league is or how many teams. If your post is accurate and there is only one bench spot, then I am thinking there should be some talent on free agency...Henderson Alvarez maybe?
This is a poor offer.... Brantley should land you a top SP. Not a +32 yo with arm issues. I'd hold Brantley for a month or two, then move him for a Price or Kluber once every has figured out he's legit.
