What to do with Ryan Zimmerman
Ryan Zimmerman has been a huge bust so far. Both Dayan Viciedo and Ernesto Frieri are still sitting in the FA pool.
Is there any reason to hang on to Zimmerman? Or am I ready to cut him loose for either Frieri or Viciedo?
Here's my team. 10 team H2H:
C- Carlos Ruiz
1B- Billy Butler
2B- Jason Kipnis
3B- Jed Lowrie
SS- Hanley Ramirez
OF- Curtis Granderson
OF- Josh Reddick
OF- Hunter Pence
Util- Allen Craig
Util- Shane Victorino
BN- Matt Kemp (DL)
BN- Ryan Zimmerman
DL- Ryan Howard
SP- Cole Hamels
SP- Stephen Strasburg
RP- Jason Motte
RP- Kenley Jansen
P- Tyler Clippard
P- Adam Wainwright

P- Jeff Samardzija
BN- RA Dickey

I have him on my H2H KEEPER team. I tried & tried to trade him. I finally traded him today for Lincecum.

In our 11 team league, every team has a satisfactory 3Bman, so no one wants to trade for him. We are planning to drop him if we can find an available player on the wire who can play better than him for the rest of the season. If you find that player, drop Zimmerman, if you cant trade him. The name of the game is to man your roster with the best players. 1/3 of the way thru the season, dont keep waiting and hoping. Zimmerman has been hitting all year like he is damaged goods. Nothing happening but swinging strikes and ground balls to the right side. His power metrics have disappeared. Good luck.

His team doesn't blow...he has a lot of good players. Don't be a jerk.

I'd drop Chris Capuano you don't need him and I'd drop Clippard also Frieri has been a beast with strikeouts even if he platoons in the ninth he still gives you more than Clippard.

Before you go all crazy and send Zimmerman packing for a few statistical oddities that haven't proven themselves to the world and even their own skippers yet, evaluate your situation since week one. Are you losing matchups by a point where if you had 1 or 2 more saves you'd end up on top? Have you missed out on a point because you were behind by 4 or 5 Ks that you couldn't have gotten by picking up a spot starter? With your bench being filled by DL ridden players right now consider keeping Zimmerman... it is more likely that you will have a situation without him where you will miss out on an RBI or HR because you don't have enough hitters in your lineup that have games that day. An "empty" offensive spot is more detrimental than adding another relief pitcher... especially an unproven RP. Just my opinion on the matter, especially where your roster has already been filled with waiver and roster adds of players that are streaky and have performed well abover their expected values... either way good luck in your decision making process!

I traded Zimmerman for Altuve and Johan weeks ago and haven't regretted it yet.

You've got a solid team. Let Zimm sit on the bench, you'll want him later in the season when Lowrie isn't doing shit.
-
Viciedo was like so 2 weeks ago. Zimm is THAT guy you just wont let go. Mine up until 2 weeks ago was Hosmer.
Get Tank now. -
he is an over hyped but, just like zobrist , kendrick and bruce...what a waste of roster space
-
He's a tough one to cut. Float him out on the trade block and see if someone is looking to buy low.

you keep him and play him..... thx
