Commissioner Corner Message Board
I started a custom league and opened it up to the public. I now have a league of 12 teams. I am getting furstrated because it appears that half of the teams that joined are not being managed. Some of the managers have not logged in since before the draft. They have also hidden and not allowed emails to be sent to them.
I don't believe that it is fair the teams that are being managed to have so many good players unavailable for use in the league. My hope was to have a league of teams that actually wanted to complete.
I would like to give them until the first of the new year (6 weeks since the draft) to begin managing their teams. If no activities has occurred by then, I would like to drop all their players to the waivers and lock them out of doing any further activity.
What do you think? Am I being unreasonable? Do you think this is acceptable within my role as the comissioner of a custom league?
IF you want active managers, please join my league...
Please join my fun, competitive H2H 20 team league. Got active managers in this league. Thanks!

Good to see coaches who don't quit, like me! I had similar experiance in Football league, but when I thought I was dropping a quitter's team to waivers, they went right to free agency. Be careful. Also, you are being too generous with the time you are allowing. I watch for activity for 2 weeks, write the quitter to see if everything is OK, then give them 5 days to write back. After that, NOW, I will just bench their players, not drop them to free agency, unless of course, you have a league where ALL coaches are active and play fair. BTW, check out my POINTS league, Double Dribble, auto-draft, star-dropping allowed. Good luck.
Same thing has happened to me but with 2 teams of 12. What I am going to do is lock those 2 teams out of my league. I am going to have another draft with those 2 teams players. Whoever is in last gets to draft a player and drop one of their players. Everyone gets 2 rds. After the draft, I than will release the players into the FA list. Since the draft will be done in the computer everyone will see who is picking up who and who is dropping who. I will make sure everyone gets the right player accordingly.

wow this thread was started Dec 17th, what resolution did the original poster choose?? Best thing to do is to find a willing active manager to take over the team, some people like the challenge of taking a crap team and improving it
I would probably just leave things the way they are. I have found that in Fantasy Hockey and Basketball Leagues many team owners dont do much with their teams until after football season is over. If they dont participate after the first of the year I would still probably leave things alone. If you made rules regarding involvement before the season then do what you must. But if no rules are in place, you should just leave things alone and learn from the experience.
If you think this is bad take a look at the league I am in with a cheating commish (95672 Grocery Gang). This commish isnt even trying to hide it. Its a joke that Yahoo allows this to go on.
I wish I could find leagues with a commish like you that wants participation.
