How could I Lose

I joined the FANS OF TIGERWOODS fantasy golf league and Last week I scored 288 pts in the WGC tournement. However, another golfer won the prize who scored 285 pts in the event. I reviewed my score and found that the previous weeks score had been subtracted from the WGC event, causing me to go from 288 to 236. Now, is this a part of the rules?, because I did not read this anywhere.
