What do you all think??? Should I pick up Kaymer and/or start him for tomorrow?? Right now I have Westwood starting and Donald as my backup. But to be honest I don't really feel confident with any of the C list guys this week, even Donald. But I do believe that Donald is the best of the group. I just get this feeling like Donald might let down this week. Well if I am going to dump anybody for Kaymer it will be Westwood. Let me know what you guys think.
With Anthony Kim shooting -4, one shot off the lead, why do I feel that maybe the Bookies were right on with Kaymer?
Kim hasn't exactly been lighting it up on the PGA Tour this year (except the nice final round to place at Bobe Hope). And you don't need to remind me how Mark O'Meara, among others, have dubbed Kim the next big thing. Maybe he is the next best thing; on the European Tour.
Yeah, that's it, the golf world will become split like the Darts world. Just like Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld are #1's on their own circuits, we'll have Anthony Kim and Tiger Woods take command of their own tours too.
All in all, the just of this is, perhaps we need to see more a little more out of this Martin Kaymer before rushing to judgment.
Kaymer is currently 80 to 1 odds in London, which is the same as Westwood. Donald is currently 22 to 1.
He's kind of a win or miss the cut type of player.
If you don't have a good feeling about Donald, what you can do is pick a player like Marino, who has made his cuts this year, as your guy that you know will be there over the weekend. Then you can go for the home run with Kaymer as you second player.
Last 4 non match play tournaments where both Kaymer and Donald were in the same field:
Commercial Bank Qatar Masters
Abu Dhabi Championship
Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
Kaymer has Donald 3 out of 4
Westwoods last 7 results I found including the disaster at the Northern Trust:
Portugal Masters T3rd 19 under
HSBC Champions T2nd 10 under
Abu Dhabi Golf Championship T2nd 11 under
Qatar Masters T5th 13 under
Dubai Desert Classic T 10th 7 under
Northern Trust........he sucked MC
WGC Accenture Match Play T 17th
for the comment that Westwood is on the way down..........his only PGA event was a nightmare this year, but take a look at his last few months in Europe. Go to europeantour.com I believe it is, and take a look at his finishes/scores, etc.....he is playing quite well actually. I think Kaymer is also playing very well, so probably cant go wrong there.

go to owgr.com, and on the left side of the page type in the players name. They include the world ranking points which each golfer recieves PER EVENT, and that is a good indicator as to the strength of the field for that particular event. If you look at Kaymer, he received more rank points for the European Tour events as opposed to the Challenge Tour events which he won quite awhile back ago (ie 44 for Abu Dhabi Championship as opposed to Open de Volcans and Vodafone Challenge where he recieved only 12 each). Keep this in mind to, his 44 for the Abu Dhabi were only 4 less than Els' 48 at the Honda, so that shows you how strong the fields are for certain European Tour events.
Yeah I think im gonna stick with Westwood. There are just too many unknowns with Kaymer. His only pga tour event ever was the match play event. There is no doubt he has TONS of talent. But there just is no way to know how he will perform in florida. It most likely will take him some time to get used to it.
