Dwyane Wade (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.
Optimism was briefly on the rise when beat writer Ira Winderman tweeted that Wade was cutting and moving well with "no evidence" of an ankle injury, but Miami will hold him out for at least one more game. Given Winderman's observations, it sounds like Wade has a solid chance to return against the Knicks on Friday. Shane Battier started Miami's last game and could get another start in Wade's absence.
