I have Varly, Backs, Bernier, and Bob. Thinking of keeping 3 with Bob being odd man out or if I keep 2 Bob and Bernier would be who I would drop. Do I even keep Varly with all the injury issues he's had this season and the outbreak of Neuvirth and Hotlby? Help plz!
Of all those goalies only one of them stands to actually be a started next year... Keep Backstrom and nobody else. Worst case scenario is you get one of them back in the draft though the odds are you're going to get a better player than any of those 3. Bernier's not going to take over Quick, Varlamov's so flaky it's not worth burning a keeper on and Bob... well that's just as risky as keeping Varlamov. Philly wants a goalie, that's well known.

thanks for all the input guys, but to be honest I think I'll be keeping Backs and Bernier. Varly is in a goalie merry-go-round in wash. and bob, while good would get kicked to the curb once philly finds a better option.
I'm not 100% sold on Bob either, I wouldn't give up Bernier, his long-term potential will net him a starting job sooner then later, either via trade or free agency. I'd go with your first 3 as well.

Bob gets in and out with Boucher all season... Not worth keeping. Bernier you can just pick up in the draft again a round or two higher than he should be (since do you really think he'll be rated high if he's not even going to play as a starter...). Wasting keepers on players that won't get you points that are easily replaceable.
I think Bob has proven himself more then Bernier this season (Even with Bob's struggles as of late). Bernier would be my first drop. And the Varly situation is interesting. I think that WAS is going to need to change thier goalie situation next year by bringing in some experience. If you could trade varly for a draft pick i would suggest it.

Agreed. Though I'd say Bernier's better than Bob but Bob has been in and out with Boucher... Not as reliable a #1 goalie as you can get. Varlamov's not worth keeping, he wasn't worth keeping last year (yea I dropped him).
Backstrom's by far the no brainer to keep.
How many players do you get to keep that you're willing to keep two crap goalies.
good question buddy,
i recently traded neuvirth in my keeper because im not very confident with him or varly. i would keep bob, bernier and backs because they will all be starters on their teams next year or in bernier's case many years to come. if there was 1 goalie i think you can afford to drop it is varly.
