Commissioner Corner Message Board
Firefly, I acknowledge the fact that Thomas and Lundquist are better goalies than Luongo, but so far on this season, it is proven he is on a better team.
I am a Canuck fan yes, so this may have a little bias but I really believe they have their D set for a while. There's experience and depth there, a nice mix of both. Also, their offense has star plays AND again, more depth in the higher numbered lines, winning games.
Therefore, you must come to the conclusion that Luongo would be the best non-keeper league take this season out of the four choices, based on the solidity of the Canucks.
Luongo first. Canucks are solid and hot.
Thomas second. He is a great, usually consistent goalie for a hot team.
Lundquist is probably one of the best there is, but NYR isn't doing as great as Canucks. They do better than the Bruins, but if Bruins lose, it's usually by less than NYR; which is why Thomas would be better here for the SV%.
Varlamov is just risky, for an inconsistent team. You might consider this guy in keeper but as you said, it's not.
Lundquist is extremely consistant on a year to year basis here is the order and there is no arguements
Thomas vezina trophy winner soon to be 2 years out of the past 3
Lundquist better GAA and SV% than Luongo past 2 years
Luongo very good goalie gets the benifit of being on a powerhouse team so he gets the wins
Varlo Just does not seem to want it. has the skill but just no heart. Injuried too much will not play with a broken finger nail
